To me being a diehard is someone who rides the highs and low of a team, all the emotions of being a fan. They look forward to watching their team play each week, be it live or on tv. If I was BE there is no way I would drive to Sydney for every home game, too much of my time on a weekend travelling. There was a number of times I got home on a Friday around 6.30ish with good intentions of going to a game at Brookie but just could not be stuffed after a long week at work, even though I have a season pass. Everyone has different priorities, just because they do not make every game live does not mean they are not a diehard.

I guess I see things differently, being a fan of the Bulldogs and having done it for the last three (unsuccessful) years, that in addition to the things I mentioned before.

In addition to this, funnily enough gongy's only been around as long as Manly have been near to the top of table. I wonder if he'll be so staunch when the Sea Eagles are down and out. I know blokes like you post win lose or draw... what about him?

If you replaced the word diehard with dedicated I could understand your point more. But someone can be just as big a diehard fan by sitting at home watching the game to someone who is at the game. Going to a game does not mean you feel the losses more.

Back on topic - the NSW Cup Grand Finalists are decided.

Newtown will face Wentworthville as the Eels' feeder club currently lead Manly 34-12 in the final ten minutes. Earlier the Jets put the cleaners through the Wests Magpies, 36-22 victors.

The Jim Beam Cup Grand Final between Windsor and Sydney Bulls is coming up soon.

I'm not sure many are predicting a big Manly win. I think you're seeing the absolute worst of everything that's aimed at Melbourne and chucking a "News Ltd" and sensationalising it. Don't carry on like a pork chop about the Storm are you probably won't get the unnecessary attention you've earned.

Bla Bla Bla Bla Bla .....

Seems like you and the Manly fans are having a nice little back and forth so I'll leave you to it ;-) I guess you'll be happy to know I'm not going to post much here for the rest of the week. Storm by 6

Bugger, I was hoping to be able to have a few beers at lunch next Sunday watching Manly in the NSW cup whilst in Foster. Would have made it interesting for me.

OK believe what you want.

My point was the Storm are still very much focused and ready for another premiership. All this controversy against them should only serve to lift them further. They're always hard to beat because they concede very few points. A Manly win wouldn't surprise me but I really doubt they'd win by a big margin as some suggest. That's all I'm saying.

Misunderstood the context of 'That's all I'm saying'. It means that's the point I wanted to make - that it should be close game and I don't think it'll be a big Manly win. Doesn't mean I had nothing more to say on other things ...... anyway let's not go over this anymore. I'll leave if you stop replying to me ok ....

LOL at people who think Manly will win easily.

Melbourne with their origin players haven't lost by more than 4 points all season. They have the wood over Manly from last season's 34-8 shellacking in the grand final and have beaten them twice this season, the psychological edge in still in their favour.

Expect a similar game to the Manly-Melbourne game at Brookvale and a similar scoreline. Manly should enjoy some good periods of pressure and it will come down to whether Orford, finally produces in a big game which is close.

Storm by 6

well of course a storm fan will back them, just as a manly fan will back manly, some objective picks are needed.

I'm finding it hard to go past Melbourne honestly. They just play at this level so far above everyone.

20-10 or thereabouts this year. Both teams will suffer in the GK department with Cam Smith missing and Orford being sh*t.

orford is a trash kicker but smith isnt much better. sure he's storms first choice, but so is orford. losing them is like losing a gangrene foot, it feels wrong losing the foot but it needs to be done. matai and turner for goalkicking.

A very tough call but I'm hoping to keep my tipping for the finals series at 100% .......
Melbourne have the wood on the Eagles - but so did the Dragons ........won't be a flogging by I'd say Manly by 4 as long as Orford and Stewart are fit .
