Figures so far this year are pretty good so far, with the biggest improvers so far being......funnily enough, Melbourne.

Hopefully, when they move to AAMI Stadium, this rise will continue, despite what has happened in the past weak. I predict a spike in their first few games at AAMI, but as the season wears on, it will taper away.

The Eels are doing alright so far, with a big crowd expected on Friday night, we may well push our average up over the 20 000 mark.
Anyway, figures are below.

Team Gm Total Ave.
Brisbane 3 106542 35514
Melbourne 3 63557 21186
St George Ill. 4 81030 20258
Souths 4 80310 20078
Wests Tigers 3 59230 19743
Parramatta 4 74169 18542
Canterbury 4 71957 17989
Gold Coast 4 69052 17263
New Zealand 3 49164 16388
Newcastle 3 46341 15447
Roosters 3 45435 15145
Canberra 3 44457 14819
Manly 3 43388 14463
North Qld 4 57494 14374
Penrith 4 55400 13850
Cronulla 4 46436 11609

Time will tell if the salary cap dramas have any influence on the crowds for the rest of the year.

I think the NRL have to be congratulated on their membership campaign. The money was certainly well spent and the Sydney teams have benefited greatly.

lets hope for a big crowd vs dogs so our avg can get up around 20k.

great job by management to get our games v souths & bulldogs to ANZ. ATM parra stadium isnt going to be able to cater to these games.

Havent Nth Qld fallen from grace, they were always getting over 20k for their home games, wether winning or losing. Im also suprised gold coast aint higher either.

Hope there is a huge crowd this friday night to propel our average considerably higher cause we will need it considering who we play at home over the next couple of months

vs Bye (expect to get 3, Strider Middleton to keep tabs on our F/A, mUSHASI to watch us lose 15 straight, and Parra Steve for his weekly hotdog fix)

vs Sharks (expect around 13-14k plus ? weather pending)

vs Melbourne (MNF should get well over 15k, the booing will be deafening :D)

vs Broncos (last yr we just got over 10k, should do a bit better this year provided we are playing well till then)

Vs Cowboys (generally a poor drawcard, 12k will be a great result)

So in reality our average could plummet considerably after the next 4 home games

It would be nice to top Saints, Souths and Wests to have the biggest home average of Sydney teams, but I don't think we'll get there.

We should get 25K this Friday, and to get say 18K for regular Parra Stadium games will be a good result imo. The MNF game v I think Cowboys will be a relatively poor crowd (12K), as Monday Nights suck as a rule.

Good crowd figure tonight... Thought we were in for a small one 15 mins before kickoff, due to the weather. It was really really empty in my area (compared to the day time Rabbits game), but filled up at the last minute.

Did anyone catch what went on in the bulldogs fans' blue that attracted all the security and cops at the northern (?) end?

Yeah i was in the Northern end when the fight broke out. There was all these IDIOT bulldogs suppporters that went up in arms after Parra scored a try. They started taunting some parramatta supporters that were around them. Next thing we saw was over 100 little bulldogs supporters jump the chairs to fight the eels supporters. IT was massive. I literally saw a cop grab one of the guys by the neck and tackle him down as the guy was kicking the copper in the face. It was soooo bad. There was over 20-30 police officers there trying to contain it but they couldnt the fights just kept breaking out. It reached a point where everyone up at our end was watching the fight and was missing the game.
