In the end, the rain did scare a few people away unfortunately.. would've been nice to get the attendance over 30k for it's nice match.Rain in Melbourne might stop it from getting capacity.

Sydney crowds are all boosted by the 'away' crowds when they play teams from two suburbs away...
so despite all the claims that Sydney is a saturated market with too many teams which should be culled/merged/relocated they are averaging less than 1000 less than non-Sydney.
I think it's time we start punting non-Sydney teams.
The public of Brisbane are notorious bandwagoners. They'll all support whoever is doing well, at the moment the flavour of the month is the Reds. As soon as the Reds season ends in a week or two, the Broncos crowds will rise again (although it would help if they played semi-respectable football too).
androtoplmao. It is a bland flavour the reds....one 32k crowd (broncos average this poor year) against the best team for a team that is playing its best in 20 years....no one talks the reds, its all nrl and a little afl, even less union. A lot of of it is gambling talk - all three codes at a ratio of 7:2:1.
so there you go. And btw....the reds crowds do not impact broncos crowds. Its merely the quality of footy and the opposition and whether its a must win game, etc. This year has dissapointed everyone....looking forward to double header and titans, should be good.
The official capacity is 30,050 so it only fell 600 short, which is amazing considering the conditions. In the end, the rain did scare a few people away unfortunately.. would've been nice to get the attendance over 30k for it's nice match.

And Souths.Roosters have been the disappointing ones.
Don't know what happened to them, for a club that has the most members there crowds are very disappointing. And Souths.
