Surely if we are infact going with Reebok for 2010 (haven't seen an official article) then they would have to take the adidas logo off our website soon? They go back to training soon and would be wearing reebok gear wouldn't they?

Training starts for Saints on November 23 incase anyone didn't know.

You're definitely not with adidas, GC have signed a deal with them, and adidas for some reason want to only sponsor one NRL club. Reebok are a subsidiary of adidas or so I here, so they're the next most likely.

As for changing sponsor logos on websites, expect that sort of stuff to happen over the coming 5 days. Yesterday (Nov 1) is the official start of the 2010 season in terms of contracts relating both to sponsorship and players so club websites will be changing in that regard. The Bulldogs changed their website today to put the new logo on.

Just had a squizz and the adidas jumper still appears on the front page of our website. No mention of reebok ????

Nothing in the shop, nothing in the news section.

Finally...from official website:

DRAGONS ANNOUNCE NEW APPAREL SPONSOR

Friday, 6 November 2009
The St George Illawarra Dragons and global sportswear giant Reebok have today officially announced a four-year sponsorship deal, until the end of the 2013 season.
The new deal will see the Dragons and Reebok partner on a variety of strategic marketing, advertising, promotion and community initiatives and Dragons players and fans will have the opportunity to experience a wide range of apparel including technologically advanced products to enhance training and playing performance.
“Circumstances arose to enable us to exit one year early from our previous apparel supplier contract and we are delighted to have been able to secure a multi-year Partnership with one of the worlds leading global brands in Reebok,” said Dragons CEO Peter Doust.
“Our arrangements with Reebok will see an improved financial return to the Club and an increase in the number and variety of products as well as other associated brands that will be beneficial to our players, Corporate Partners, Red V Members and fans”.
Similar history, corporate values and demographics make the Partnership a natural fit.
The St George Illawarra Dragons are a professional and innovative sporting club with a rich history in rugby league,” said Reebok Director Michael Hendler. “We too have been a respected leader within the sporting industry since 1895; it was a natural fit for Reebok to join forces with the Dragons in 2010”.
“Reebok has developed a strong standing in on-field apparel sponsorship and we believe this is an excellent opportunity to expand in the world of Rugby League”.
The St George Illawarra Dragons will join teams from the NFL, NHL, A-League, Bolton Wanderers (English Premier League), Port Adelaide, Richmond Tigers, Fremantle Dockers, Melbourne Demons, Adelaide Crows and Gold Coast Football Club in the AFL.
Official Dragons apparel designed and produced by Reebok will be available first at www.dragons.com.au/shop from mid-November.

My only concern is the fan merchandise. ADIDAS made some killer off-field wear, such as the STGI hoody and the Liverpool style zip up jacket.

Hopefully Reebok can continue with this.

I like the line

“Our arrangements with Reebok will see an improved financial return to the Club and an increase in the number and variety of products as well as other associated brands that will be beneficial to our players, Corporate Partners, Red V Members and fans”

Its good to see the club increase its earnings from sponsors during a down turn. No doubt our on field performance this year has helped grow the pie.
