Bulldogs have passed 12k members!!!!

Autobarn - Australia's best known auto accessories retailer - has become the latest significant consumer brand to join the Bulldogs family, signing a three-year deal as the naming rights sponsor for the Club's Membership Program.

The sponsorship will also see their name featured on the bottom back of the Bulldogs jersey.

The addition of Autobarn as Membership sponsor comes as the Bulldogs get set to surge past the 10,000 mark for ticketed Members and is a direct reward for the energy invested in re-engaging with fans. The Club already boasts in excess of 12,000 Members in total - an 83 % increase on last year's record figures and an increase of nearly 200% since 2008.

"We're just so pleased to welcome another quality organisation like Autobarn to the Bulldogs. They understand our ability to deliver extensive reach into their target retail market and we look forward to helping them grow their business," said Bulldogs Chief Executive Mr. Todd Greenberg.

Autobarn's National Marketing Manager, Paul Dumbrell believes that the Bulldogs are on the way to becoming one of the most dominant teams in Australian sport and he wants to be part of the journey.

"The Bulldogs consistently generate incredible ratings on both free to air and pay television throughout NSW and Queensland and they also have the most visited website in NRL. This gives Autobarn a great platform to grow along with the Bulldogs in achieving not only on field success but driving interest in the Autobarn brand throughout Australia" Mr. Dumbrell said.

*REMINDER: the below information relates to all members - ticketed and non-ticketed. Ticketed only memberships stopped being counted when Saints and Souths got over the line*

Whilst on the field the Parramatta Eels and Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs might be struggling to recapture their strong 2009 form, off the field, the two clubs have continued to move forward in leaps and bounds when it comes to Memberships.

Leading the pack with 97% and 81% growth respectively, the two clubs have almost doubled their combined membership base to over 22,000, and have set the standard as club continue to battle it out for the NRL’s second membership prize for the biggest growth.

Further down the field the Wests Tigers have continued their strong start to the season with an impressive 57% growth from their 2009 numbers, whilst the Dragons, Sharks and Panthers have all increased their membership numbers by over a third.

Currently 12 of the 16 clubs have grown on their 2009 numbers, with the Roosters and Storm both on track to at least equal those figures. As a code, the NRL’s membership base has grown 24%, up from over 113,000 last year to now over 136,000 with more growth still to come.

Remember it’s not too late to become a member of your club, with many clubs offering 3 – 6 game membership packs, and non-ticketed memberships! To find out more click here.

Great that 12 out of 14 clubs can show an increase in overall members, and the total league increase is very pleasing. Hopefully the rest look at what souths and the Dragons have done right to get that many signed up.

Thanks Timmah.

I think next year, clubs will come up with new ideas and changes to their packages to bring in even more people to join their clubs.

The only thing the Dragons have done right is bring Benny to the club.

Warriors need to get there finger out. With a whole country to sign up they need to be offering better "distance" memberships.

If Souths have a year like Canterbury or Parra had last year, look out. 25k+ members in a few years.

FYI, Souths 2010 Ticketed Membership count is at 11,410 (probably where we'll finish at considering we've had 4 home games already!).

Bump.

It would be interesting to see the new ladder now.
Since the salary cap issue, Storm have signed on around 500 new members within the space of under 1 week.
