2010 Top 25 & Part Time Squad all but Confirmed

I think we will probably have enough halves/hookers:

Humble
MKeating
Mitchell
(Hayne)

I guess what I'm really saying is we replaced Finch with Morts and Kingston with Mitchell both from NYC - but have we replaced Morts or Mitchell? We bought in Humble but I haven't seen him play. And if Robson is the yardstick people are placing for our halves/hookers then that doesn't tell me much about Humble's talent.

I just wrote the team off the top of my head without considerations of the starting team.
Anyway, you cant exactly put a NSW Origin Prop or our Captain on the bench as much as we would like to.

Daniel Galati is an Australian Schoolboys hooker from last year and has been playing behind Mitchell in NYC, Tim Crellin has also made the step up and can play in the halves as well as hooker.

Along with TK Amosa it looks like Jaydin Tavita will also be in the NYC side next year given he played some of the season this year.

There is also halves -Jason Wehbe, Josh Murray and Edan Price though I'm not certain of their situation for next year.

At Wenty it looks as though we also have signed Shane Croft for part of this season and the next from Penrith NYC/Windsor.

I would guess though that there will be players coming and going in the lower grades during the off season.

I don't know if this has been noted or mentioned anywhere else, but I noticed that Hauraki is missing from the team photo published in the Telegraph today. Tautai is in the photo, but not Wellar.

I'm sure there are a thousand possible explanations for his absence ... I just thought I'd throw it out there.

you assume just because other eels players are preferred that he is under-rated, that is not true at all, he would most likely start at any other team, but the reality is that alot of eels fans including myself would prefer the backline that you are arking up about.

that to me says more about the quality of our backline (and a little to do with grothe's value as an extra forward).

as a great clubman i'm sure he won't mind filling in for injuries and suspensions that will occur.

this doesn't HAVE to be a negative thing

Burt's least likely to be the one in the backline who gives way to Tahu next season... just how I see it and his contribution to the side.

No way Tahu's been brought in because we have trouble down Burt's side of the field in attack or defence. There's some other likely suspects that might be wearing Wenty gear again before Burt does, or face a switch to the pack like Ben Smith did during the off-season.

People thought Bauman was the next Hindmarsh because they had the same hair do, didn't live up to the hype, no big loss.
These players that anderson is flicking are hagans scraps, latimore, bauman, lewis i expect callan richardson to follow soon to.

Few wenty players will be getting call ups into the part time squad.
