Round 5 – April 8-11 – Away vs Tigers - Sydney Cricket Ground

Round 16 – June 24-27 – Home vs Broncos at nib Stadium, Perth

My prediction for our home venues would be

2 Warriors LO
3 Raiders CS
5 Rabbitohs SCG
7 Broncos CS
11 Panthers CS
13 Knights CS

15 Storm LO
16 Bulldogs SFS
20 Roosters LO
22 Dragons SFS
24 Eels SFS
25 Titans LO

Although the Roosters may be CS instead of one of the Broncos/Panthers/Knights to try and spread it more evenly over the whole season.

Yep, looks the goods.

WT site says the club will confirm venues later in the year but R5 v Souths @ SCG is already a lock.

Roosters membership info says 11 SFS + 1 AMI Stadium Christchurch (they're not going back to Gosford this season).

I can only assume the 1 Christchurch game will be R13 v Warriors...

I'd bet my left nut that the Dogs and Dragons games will be at the SFS, the last one will either be against Parra or Easts.

Marshall, is it correct to assume 4 LO 4 CS 3 SFS and 1 SCG?

Dragons havent had a home game in round 1 for the last 7 years(NRL Record)
In some cases that has been due to stadium work. Having said that, I believe for Canberra before this year it was 10 seasons, which would be an NRL record.

I believe this is the first time the Bulldogs have both opened and closed the season at home in a long time as well.

While I'm at it a few things I noticed looking through...

Heritage Round has moved from R10 to R5 and a lot of the match ups have changed. As such, I have questions:
Brisbane v Newcastle - 1988 debuts, SL v ARL, fair call.
Cowboys v Gold Coast - WTF? Both from QLD, that's about it.
Bulldogs v Dragons - Heritage Round staple. Good choice
Penrith v Canberra - 1990/91 GF's, good call i guess
Cronulla v Manly - 70's battles, Steve Rogers Cup, good call
Storm v Eels - grudge about the 09 GF? Slater v Hayne? meh, not really heritage.
Warriors v Roosters - '02 Grand Final? Otherwise, not much heritage IMO
Tigers v Souths @ SCG - Heritage round staple. Good choice.

Easter and ANZAC Weekend falling together presents a conundrum as the Roosters have traditions for both. Looks like ANZAC takes precedence and as such the Broncos clash moves to the weekend before.

Rivalry Round I have similar questions to Heritage Round, although it appears there's only one real contentious one... Dogs v Warriors? Where's the rivalry there? :?

And possibly because of our stadium sizes, round 1 games involving us usually draw a crowd bigger then the capacity of kogarah or the gong

All I want is the weekend it is my birthday, a game in Sydney so I can do my yearly NRL roadtrip weekend of a game a day.

We don't play in Sydney til a month later! :(

1. Gallop doesn't write the draw. That, and stop blaming Gallop and the NRL for the sheer stupidity, incompetence and fraud of your club's former administration.

2. Your club may well have requested it, plus the front end of your season is loaded with home games... no doubt the club is looking to capitalise on being able to play for points.

WTF? Why change heritage round? Us playing Manly is a no brainer. Grand Finals, them taking our players for decades, entering the same year. Utterly stupid.

Change rivalry round of course. We have plenty of rivals in Canterbury, St George, Penrith and now Melbourne I guess. But if any one is to play Manly in heritage round, its us. And when the Bears come in, Manly vs Bears in rivalry round.
