1. Dragons - Haven't lost much. Their confidence will be sky high. Bennett for another year won't hurt either.
2. Warriors - Recruited very well. Talented right across the park.
3. Roosters - Will be better for the experience of last year. They'll go close again provided Carney can keep it together.
4. Raiders - Huge forwards, smart young backs. If Orford can stay fit, they'll go close.
5. Tigers - They should be up there going on last year's form but a lot depends on Sheens and his tactics du jour.
6. Rabbitohs - Really good team on paper. It's their halves that worry me. Again.
7. Sea Eagles - Should quietly go about their business this year. They're flying under the radar a bit.
8. Storm - Too good a squad to not make the 8 but I reckon they'll have a bit of a hangover form last year.

9. Cowboys- They'll improve but something still stinks in Townsville.
10. Titans - Another dud year for the over-hyped Titans. Prince can't do it all.
11. Broncos - Too much going on behind the scenes. The Broncos are in for a 5 year stint of mediocrity.
12. Bulldogs - Made some good purchases but I'm not convinced they've got the firepower in the forwards.
13. Eels - Awful recruitment and alarming lack of halves options.
14. Knights - All this Tinkler stuff isn't good for the Knights. They'll struggle badly.
15. Sharks - Nothing good to say about the Sharks. Nothing at all.
16. Panthers - One word - Elliott. One more word - Spoon.

Pretty much. Gus has a great league mind, but it's almost comical how bad his top 8 predictions end up being every year.

These are Goulds 'tips' from last year. Dont know if you could be more wrong if you tried  Bottom 4 teams all ended up making the 8.

1st - Parramatta (12th)
2nd - Melbourne (16th)
3rd - Canterbury (13th)
4th - Wests (3rd)
5th - St George Illawarra (1st)
6th - Gold Coast (4th)
7th - Manly (8th)
8th - South Sydney (9th)
9th - North Queensland (15th)
10th - Brisbane (10th)
11th - Newcastle (11th)
12th - Cronulla (14th)
13th - Penrith (2nd)
14th - Sydney (6th)
15th - Canberra (7th)
16th - New Zealand (5th)

So virtually bang on with the middle part of the ladder, minus NQ. But the rest nowhere near except for the Tigers.

End competition rounds, not necessarily final results. Bloody hell this is hard! Below Team 6 cannot win.

1. Melbourne - still the best spine and they will be hungry.
2. Dragons - lost some great players, but culture is still good. Not going anywhere.
3. Raiders - young, hungry, and better for last years finals run + some good additions.
4. Tigers - close last year, good balanced squad.
5. Roosters - Won't be far off, would not surprise if they finish higher.
6. Warriors - build on a good result from last year. Five Eighth shines again could be higher.
7. Bunnies - if they can't sneak in there with GI, they never will!
8. Knights - heart more than head, but not suprised if we run last. FFS forwards, harden up!
9. Dogs - would not suprise if they finish in there but cannot win this year.
10. Broncos - same as Dogs
11. Parra - same as Broncos. Kearney will have them showing up every week.
12. Titans - along with Panthers, big drop this year.
13. Panthers - see Titans.
14. Eagles - start building it up again Dessie. Not this year.
15. Cowboys - Great potential, terrible performance. What is going on up there?
16. Sharks - hope they prove me wrong.

Agreed, but how hard is it? Only a few points separate top 4 and out of the 8 and this can come down to a few poor decision across a couple of games and that is your season. It's a fine line and that's why we love it!

1. Dragons - Eat up the regular season, grind out wins
2. Warriors - Stable side, points in them, will be better then last year
3. Raiders - Great young side. Strike out wide and size up front
4. Tigers - Best squad depth wise in the competition. Very dangerous
5. Souths - Will turn a few close losses into close wins
6. Bulldogs - Don't have 2 bad years in a row. Resiliant club
7. Titans - Long in the tooth, but solid enough. Can't win comp
8. Knights - Surprise packets. plenty of raw talent, points in them
------------------------
9. Manly - Will try hard but on the slide
10. Storm - Few great players but squad has been picked apart
11. Roosters - Gut feeling here, got lucky in many games last year
12. Eels - Will try hard but lack talent overall
13. Broncos - Not feeling it, unstable, reliant on ageing Lockyer
14. Cowboys - Better, but not much
15. Panthers - Bombed out of finals, Elliott?? , hmm could implode
16. Sharks - Sorry

End of 26 rounds predictions which I'm sure will be way off. I think the top 6 are fairly settled and the difference between 7 and 15 very small.

1.Dragons - no nonsense style & limited rep commitments will see them win a lot of games.
2.Tigers - too many stars not to do well. Young forwards to rise.
3.Warriors - look strong with plenty of options if injury or form slumps hit.
4.Roosters - forget carney, the roosters aren't just a 1 man team. Tough forwards.
5.Storm - still strong. Rep time without slater and smith may hurt them more than cheating years.
6.Raiders - may struggle initially but then get a roll on. Campese's return is the key.
7. Rabbitohs - have enough firepower to make the 8 but not much more
8. Eels - bigface will put some pride in the joint and hayne will win them games on his own
9. Bulldogs - will get close but a year off
10. Broncos - history has proven that their always thereabouts.
11. Panthers - slipping although there prop rotation is outstanding. Elliot is a buffoon
12. Seaeagles - expect a slide and plenty of shunting from Desmond
13. Knights - the best 13th team ever. Away form is a worry.
14. Titans - they lack depth & have done for a while.
15. Sharks - won't be disgraceful but attack is a worry
16. Cowboys - they'll start winning when Neil Henry is sent to palookaville.

Suprised to see how many people have Raiders in top 4.

Very hard to take the momentum of a young side on a roll from one season to another. Evident in 2010 after Eels ran riot at the back end of 2009 as well as Tigers for may years after 2005 finals win. All great when your on a roll for approx 8-10 weeks leadinginto finals but not so easy to replicate. Not to mention losing Campo.

I hope im wrong because it would be great for Rugby League to see Canberra up there again.
