2011 wild predictions

FG bolter : KOD will be starting in the backrow by the back end of the season

Fall from grace: I think Maddog will retire to injury or lose his spot

Big improver: AK, i think he'll improve his workrate a lot and Timana Tahu if he signs will be a great bargain and play good footy

Disappointment: Halves - i just see rotation and no settlement there until late in the season, perhaps that will be out of necessity but gee it'd be good to have 2 performing halves together for 10-15 weeks

Rep Bolter: Patterson for NSW, (KOD for NSW in 2012)

Best signing: Costigan and House

Big Signing: Kade Snowden

Big loss: Sau (Eels or Warriors will offer him 300k+ and we intelligently won't match it. He's a loss as a 180k player he is now, but he's worth 225k max)

Finish: 6th with a prelim exit

Just on KOD, Stuart will be NSW coach for years to come and he is a massive fan of KOD. If he can kill it in first grade, and given his size, speed and aggression i think he will, then he'll be on Stuarts radar for a blues jersey in 2012 as part of the new blood they'll be moving NSW towards.

So that might not be a wild one.

Crowds will average 25k at home

Matt Gidley will talk about a come back, and might do it if we have enough injuries.

Keith Lulia will try to play in the forwards, but won't go very well.

Stone won't use more than 3 rookies all season.

NYC will make the top 4.

Knights to finish 4th

Mullen, Uate, Taia and Fa'aoso to have massive years

Henry to be the answer to our halves troubles and will be a regular in the top grade.

Likiliki, Henry and KOD to make their debut for the knights and will impress.

Uate will be top try scorer, Dally M Winger and will make his debut for NSW.

Chris Adams will debut. (that's a gimme since we only seem to have two specialist hookers.)

i actually think quite a lot of everyones predictions are very feasible.

- Southern to be our primary dud signing. the rest will at least serve a purpose or simply not hit first grade yet in the case of rookies. Southern will see first grade time unfortunately.
- De Gois will remind everyone why we signed him and have a sensational year. his name will get thrown about a bit at origin time but he wont seriously be considered.
- Mullens name, however, will be very seriously considered for origin once more, but he will miss out in favour of keeping the club combination of Pearce and Carney for game 1.
- O'Donnell will be huge, and quickly force his way into first grade.
- Likiliki will get game time in first grade, and look sensational, but he won't secure a spot until one or both of Sau and Maddog leave the club. will also have work left to do on his defence.
- Henry will secure the 5/8th jumper permanently outside Mullen by mid-year. he will let in a few tries, but be well worth it. he will help Mullens consistency immensely.
- our forward pack will gain considerable mental fortitude. it wont be up there with the best packs in the comp, but it won't be near the bottom either and will do its job - aggressively. not exactly a fearless prediction, but i feel we'll need to upgrade at least one more of our front rowers (yes, alluding to Snowden) for 2012 to really be a force.
- i think we'll finish 5-6th on the ladder and we'll make it past week 1 of the finals.

Yeh, i should rename it 'hinch' instead of wild.

Geez I thought I was Captain Positive, but I guess this is the wild predictions thread :p

In terms of the more feasible predictions...I'm gonna go for

- making the 8 (7th to 9th to be more specific)
- our props to show a vast improvement (partly due to Costigan adding some starch to the pack, and the work the coaching staff are doing with the players at this very moment in the off season - ie: getting it right)
- Henry to have a half decent year after either a slow start, or getting his first chance during rounds 8-15 from injuries and rep duties
- Uate to continue where he left off...that is as one of the best wingers in the comp
- Mad Dog to keep winding that clock back (when he gets on the park) and being in our top 5 players most weeks and for that matter, the top 10 centres in the NRL. Though he will decide to call it a day at the end of the season to end on some good form and knowing the time is right with the club having two very able replacements in Sau and Likiliki
- Gidley to continue his good form in the latter half of season 2010 and really cement himself as a great leader of the club, along the lines of guys like Buderus with the heart and passion that the club was founded on.
- Mullen to finally show the consistency that he needs to show while behind an improved pack
- Pato also to show some more consistency - this time without a shoulder injury/reconstruction to end the good 10 weeks of great form he had to start the 2010 season

- Yosh to achieve a greater than 50% "sensible" post average
- Karmawave to return to the forums 1 week before round 1 and crap all over the clubs admin, then disappear for another 3-4 months until we have a minor form slump to again crap all over the clubs admin.
- roopy to be praising Henry by round 24, claiming his great, great grandfather was infact born and raised in Valentine and was always destined to play for our club. roops will also continue his quest for the answer to the "import question".
- Freddo will make 1-2 attention seeking posts per week before getting smacked about by all and eventually banhammered yet again.
- Serc to post his 1000th Herald article
- macavity will grow a pony-tail and complete an interpretive dance course

I'm not sure what my tally would be, but I think I have a little way to go to catch up with good old Pumba!

Yosh for coach when stone gets sacked after round 4! Then gosh leads the knights to a premiership and gets knighted by the queen. Consequently yosh changes nickname to Sir Yosh.
