Another great call. I think poofs bend over and go under the fence the first time if they dont like it they quickly jump back over. I guess you could always ask hutty if you want an expert opinion.

Make sure not to say that to Ian Roberts, just ask Gary Jack about getting on the wrong side of some.

As a kid supporting Manly copped alot about gay footballers, but this Man (features in Superman Returns) is a good reason not to offend people that are so way inclined.

Anyway, talk about getting of topic. I remember seeing a comment about Newcastle/Manly players filling SOO side. That would be about 1996-2002, from memory we were winning. (through in a couple of chooks)

When players are on, their on.

Aubo was a good player in 2010, but he wasn't what I'd call dominant. But I'd like too see him put another 1-2 years of good performances together before I'd pick him.

I like Tolman, i think he's tailor made for origin, i cant believe i forgot him in my previous origin team i named.

As per his size... arguably one of the best front rowers to ever lace a boot, the stalwart of the qld forward pack - Shane Webcke was 183cm and roughly 110kg, Ben Hannant who has always held his own in Origin football is 184cm and 106kgs... Aiden Tolman is 183cm and 103kgs. He only needs to put on a few more kgs and he's right there.

But he's a worker, he just rips in, plays long minutes, racks up yardage and does the hard work. Exactly what we need. All fit and healthy, Tolman, Gallen, TLL (if for nothing else but for the aggressive, explosive, belt each other up opening 30 minutes) and Douglas/Snowden/Mannah (which ever is in best form), that should be the NSW front row.

*stats as per wiki

Tolman wasn't even named in the emerging squad! Next.....

This ad lib method of selection for the blues is dead a buried now that we have a fulltime coach and emerging squad. Each player will go through at least a couple of years of being part of the emerging squad, the special ones (like Tariq Sims and Jacob Loko last year) will get to train with the squad while in camp and others will get the chance to be 18th man.

and? he might have been if he didn't have two knee reconstructions in the last year.

Guys like Tolman and Fensom aren't being considered for origin, they have many incumbents infront of them and they haven't made the cut for the 2012 emerging side.

By your logic neither is Loko.

They have as many incumbents in front of them as any other playing pushing for a spot in the front row or backrow.....

laughable that a team that has lost 6 in a row can even talk about incumbentcy

these incumbents are the same f**king spastics that have delivered us 6 series losses

Gallen. Thats your incumbent, beginning and end.

Don't blame the players for the position NSW are in, this all comes down to the incompetence of the administration. It took them five series losses to change our approach to origin football!
Five years of selection and team management methodology that wouldn't look out of place if guys like mortimer and price were still playing. QLD changed their MO in early last decade and it took that long for the idiots at the NSWRL to catch on.

As for incumbents, of course there are! Most people in this forum are selecting the same core group of players in their teams. Why was there such an outrage when Hayne was dropped for Morris in SOO 1? Because there are a core group of NSWmen that need to be there is they are fit, no questions asked.

We can't continue with the ad lib selection methods of the past, they just don't work. We need to nurture these guys into SOO, just like the toads have done for nearly a decade now.

Some people look far too much into this. Don't blame the players? If the players put in better performances last year NSW could have won, but they didn't. You can't praise the players for winning game 2 but blame the administration for losing the series.

NSW changed their selection policies quite a bit throughout the six years. The first two years were the same as the three before them really. Around 2009 everyone started panicking and using over 30 players for a series.

And Hayne wasn't dropped for Morris, he was dropped for Dugan.

I praise the administration for what they have done, be it a couple of years too late. The reason last season's origin series was one of the closest in memory was due to the fact of the changes implemented by the NSWRL.

Regardless of how many players were picked our selection policy, succession planning and performance management of players was archaic. The selection of Tolman and Fensom in some peoples teams on this forum is a return to those archaic times where NSW use to chuck player into deep end and if they didn't swim they were black listed i.e Farrah, McManus, Wolfman, Turner, Wallace etc. A big group of forwards were selected for the emerging squad for 2012, neither of these guys were selected in that group, it gives you a good idea that Ricky isn't keen on these guys.

And Hayne wasn't dropped for Morris, he was dropped for Dugan.

Hayne's previous performances for NSW should have been enough for him to keep his spot, even on the wing. In That game a piece of Hayne brilliance would have won us that one.

But, but Hayne has won 2 Bwad Fittler medals...
