Surely that doesn't mean Schalke get a w/o?

I think they'll replace them with another Ukrainian club or PAOK who they beat in the previous round.

They'll probably decide on that later today with the fixture being 7 days away.

The fair move is to just promote PAOK instead of another Ukrainian team.

Spurs went through this when we finished 4th in the EPL and Chel$ki won the UCL so we missed out, then some one got the boot from UCL.

The next team in line from their country was admitted into the UCL qualification stage.

Yep, that's how it's gone

PAOK will now play Schalke in the CL playoff round then, instead of playing Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Europa playoffs. Maccabi go straight through to the groups. Probably the fairest outcome they could have come up with

It will be much messier if Fenerbahçe get the boot on the 28th though. It'll be too late for Salzburg and Arsenal to have a playoff, and Salzburg will probably have beaten ?algiris to qualify for the Europa groups...

Still they have started Ligue 1 on fire and were clear favourites going into this tie.

It's a shame Illaramendi left, otherwise Sociedad would've been looking at the knockout stage. They still have the quality to do it but it would've been easier with him.

Well I hope someone from your club was watching our demonstration of how to beat Villa at home...

James Holland played the full 90 overnight in Austria Wien's 2-0 away win in Zagreb. Looks like we'll have a proper UCL representative this season (not one that'll spend most of the time on the bench).
