Oh dear
Surely the Holden logo is enough on the shield... bugger.
Also to point out what GAZF noticed, why do some of the shields not have straight sides? they slant in towards the top.
Oh dear
That was the old Australian Rugby League coat of arms. It was never intended to be anything like the Australian coat of arms. It had two Kangaroos on it and a map of Australia made up of boomerangs. This piece of shit on the new jersey is just a horrible manipulation of the proper coat of arms to incorporate this chevron they are desperate to put on absolutely everything all of a sudden. If they're so keen on the chevron, how about getting the f**king thing right on the bloody jersey!
Here's ECT's perfect Roos jersey, although he'll probably complain about the white collar
That's pretty much my ideal jersey.
Yeah mine too but we don't live in 1949 any more and unfortunately there are commercial reasons why jerseys have to change/evolve. Just a fact of life sadly.
Good combination, huh? What could go wrong?Kangaroos and cars eh
How dare I expect that the Australian jersey look like an Australian jersey and have the Australian coat of arms on it. And to try and suggest that "commercial reasons" are behind such uneccessary and grotesque changes is just nonsense. There is NO commercial reason for changing the jersey design, shorts and socks and certainly no reason to vandalise the coat of arms with arbitrary chevrons. In fact the fact that no one likes it suggests that it is commercially disastrous to do it because no bastard will buy it, and rightly so, and the game will be ridiculed for what it has done to the coat of arms, also quite justifiably. Here's ECT's perfect Roos jersey, although he'll probably complain about the white collar

Maybe they should have done the unveiling outside of RL Central as opposed the the NSWCA.
They share the same carpark iirc
You would think that for a photo shoot to promote the new NSW jersey they could have found a car that had New South Wales on the licence plate rather than South Australia. Especially as the photo was taken in NSW and is being used to advertise origin.
what does everyone think about the money? it seems good to me.
i see the author tries to compare the deal with V8's and AFL. doesn't seem like apples and apples to me.
the AFL comparison seems good. we're getting half as much for origin, a few kangaroos games and the 20's. toyota apparently pays twice as much to sponsor the whole AFL premiership? and holden sponsors the V8 drivers championship and we're getting twice as much as that.
i think they've done ok here...thoughts?
