Coat of arms change is no massive deal. Various versions have appeared over the years, this is nothing to onew. What i dislike about the new coat of arms though is the fact that in the out of focus pics that have been put up on here it actually looks like the FFA logo between the kangaroo and emu. First the NRl logo looked father ACB-ish now the coat of arms looks FFA-ish,

Holden sponsorship is a massive improvement on the VB logo. Will have to fork out for a new jersey so i don't have to wear the big VB billboard anymore.

The chevrons, like most, i would have prefered to have them all the way up to the shoulders but some of you are getting a little melodramatic about this. Is the jersey green? YES. are the chevrons gold? YES. are there f**ked up patterns or piping all over it? No. Is it easily identifiable as a roos jersey? Hells yes. They haven't desecrated anything, just freshened up the design a little. Be glad they didn't go all wests tigers or gold coast on it.

I like it.

The sponsor integration is very good compared to some of the abominations you see.

The most important thing is that it shits on the rubbish the other code has dished up in recent times.

I didn't think the greatest jersey in world sport could get any worse... it just did with that sponsorship placement. Looks TERRIBLE. And calling them the Holden Kangaroos? f**k off!

Really?

It's much better than this:

The chevrons are better placed and shaped - they'd be perfect if they went all the way up for the shoulders.

The thing that is annoying me is the change in the socks....

I'm guessing that Gallen is wearing the replica jersey, rather than the official players cut jersey that'll be worn by representatives in matches.

Federal guidelines on the use of the coat of arms prevent the official coat of arms from being used on merchandise. You will find that replica Wallabies and Soccerroos jerseys have similar modified coats of arms.

I realise that older replica jerseys from various sports used the full coat of arms. I can only assume either this rule is new or enforcement of the rule has been stepped up in recent times.

See: http://www.dpmc.gov.au/guidelines/docs/CCoA_guidelines.pdf

Thanks Cheesie, hope that is it.

Now we just need the socks fixed.... (doubley so for NSW)

Holden has singed a $3million sponsorship with Collingwood over 3 years. For $1million a year it will see Holden become a Platinum Partner, and designation as Head Coach and Coaches Partner and the exclusive Motor Vehicle Partner. The only logo integration and advertising will come from the coaches polo's in training/pre/post match press conferences and at the ground through sight screen advertising and potential give-aways.

This should be the jersey. Full V over the shoulders. Hooped socks. Double stripe down side of the shorts.

If they want to have a sponsor, may I suggest something small on the other side of the chevron - in place of the ARLC logo.

Edit: Would prefer no stripes down the arm of the jersey - but this was what both the Kangaroos and NSW had on the jerseys at the time. Due to Adidas making the jerseys?

No, the jeseys were made by Westmont and Adidas was a sponsor.

cant say im a fan of the holden sponsorhip on the front

It's a lot better than it could of been.

I missed that and had to go back to look. It's funny shit if it wasn't so bad, NSW jersey, with a VB sponsor with pictures taken in front of a car with SA plates... Armature hour, but it's giving me a good laugh

I'm confused. How does any of that relate to the rotating coil or coils of a dynamo or electric motor.

I know right!

It would be totally different if this wasn't the first time or if other sports didn't do it.

On a totally non-related topic, I'm glad there is no more VB Kangaroos and I wish both the Qantas Wallabies and the Qantas Socceroos well in 2013.

$5mill ayear (for how long?) isn't to be sniffed at but considering Victoria was willing to pay that just to host 1 game a year it isn't a great deal of money either for the amount of exposure that SOO in particular brings. The Kangaroo jersey is pretty worthless at the moment give how few games and what poor profile the National side has.

On its own it looks a good deal but if you want to compare it to other deals it looks like Holden got themselves a bargain ie
NAB AFL pre season comp $3million a year
Qantas Wallabies sponsorship $5million a year

Holden is spending twice as much money on Rugby League than they are with V8 supercars and spending around half of what Toyota spend for the AFL rights on a reserve grade competition and few other games.

The jersey would be much better with the 2010 design.

The stripes dont go all the way to the shoulders like previous jumpers and theyve dumped the collar.

You just don't stop whinging do you?

How can you say Holden got themselves a bargain if they are paying the same as Qantas are paying the Wallabies? Sure, RU has a lower profile in Australia than RL but the Wallabies get massive international exposure and the Wallabies play far more games than the Kangaroos. The Wallabies play the tri-nations as well as the European tour plus the second largest world cup behind soccer.

I think Perth Red has just found a way to compare apples to oranges to sedimentary rocks.

Seriously. WTF
