ok

so this one bloke, gazf, who is obviously a talented designer can make a better looking jersey for just about every club in the league.

His designs are superb but with all due respect to Gazf they do look better occasionally because the sponsors are intergrated and they lack to clusterf**k of sleeve sponsors/and upper back sponsors. Maybe if he designed some NASCAR kits the NRL would employ him.

Only just seen the Broncos 2013 jersey. Not sure how I feel. It's different and at least it isn't aqua.

One thing I am sure on, is both the NRL logo and Broncos 25 years logo look terrible on it.

As I alluded to in an earlier post, does anyone have a pic of the old BRL jersey they used to wear in the NSWRL mid-week cup (Panasonic/Amco)?

I would love someone who has the ability to us the broncs colours on that jersey.

The jersey of the red and white hoops that you're alluding to was the traditional Brisbane jersey used by the Bulimba Cup rep side, in which they competed against Ipswich and Toowoomba. The team was known as the Poinsettias, a native flower of the region.

Brisbane Broncos have no affiliation with or are in any way linked to that former institution and frankly, shouldn't be.

Your suggestion is novel but in no way valid.

I don't remember the hoops jersey. The jersey i am referring to had red/white stripes down each sleeve and was 1/2 & 1/2 on the body IIRC.

Fair points raised, it would have more relevance to brisbane compared to the tripe they have served up for 2013 IMO, which was my original point.

Although the cowboys did use the traditional blue and white of the old townsville rep sides as their heritage jersey. Largely because it is hard to have an extensive catalogue to choose from over just 15yrs i guess.
I personally wouldn't ever want to see the broncos in the red and white as to me that screams saint george and they were our first victims and great rivals.
For a one off/heritage round i'd prefer to see us where the city of brisbane colours of dark blue (not sure if it is navy or not) white and gold as seen on the flag of the city. They were the original proposed colours and part of the reason we wore the blue and white away strip for the last decade. although i don't want to see us revert to that colour combo too often or as a regular jersey.

I don't know if wearing a BRL kit would be such a good idea; I'm sure there'd be quite a few people in Brisbane who might think that the Broncos are one of the major reasons the BRL is dead. Rightly or wrongly, it might seem like a big "up-yours" to a large section of fans of Queensland RL.

Something similar happened here in Perth when the West Coast Eagles wore a 1977 WA State-of-Origin jersey and claimed it as "their heritage" during the AFL heritage round. It caused a fair bit of outrage in the non-Eagles football community.

They design by committee probably. Too many cooks...

Huge part of the problem. Too many people with no clue dictating what a design should look like. Thats why I usually stand my ground on what I do.

Yep, in a real situation I'd be more restricted with billboard sponsors. The Tigers, for example, cannot use sponsors as the sole reason for their gear though.
