2013 Jersey, Logo & Sponsorship Thread II

I wonder how regular sponsors feel when for a week they get f**ked off because off some movie or something else silly.

Surely it would hurt how much they get from the major jersey sponsor?

And if it did surely how much they'd lose wouldn't be that much less than how much they gain from the movie.

So when you think about it this rubbish isn't worth the tiny amount of money it makes.

Perhaps.

Perhaps not.

Cinderella Man.
Did I say my club was innocent in this? I hate it regardless of who does it or what movie it is. I actually like Skyfall (and Cinderella Man) but I hate the idea of one time jerseys done for some spare change. Cheapens the jersey.

In any season you should:
1) Have to wear your main jersey at 9/12 home games. For the other games you can wear your heritage strip (heritage round) and either a WIL, Indigenous, or charity strip. A third special strip like the Hindmarsh farewell strip or a bond like jersey is ok in the last round of the season. All 3 special jerseys can only be worn once.
2) No away jerseys, just alternate jerseys which can only be used away from home when there is colour clash.
3) No cammo jerseys of any description.

Teams should be looking to wear their main jersey in 18/24 rounds and 'special' jerseys the rest of the time. The jersey is a representation of what your club is about, not a f**king fashion show.

Um.... no.

The Dragons have a Red V jersey that honours their St George history and a red jersey that honours their Illawarra history. They should be allowed to wear either whenever they see fit as long as it doesn't clash with the opposition..

Obviously that figure is a minimum.

Here's the Wests Tigers Bond jersey:

Would make the 'he could play in a dinner suit' line a reality.

No more white away jersey. It's not often 2 home jerseys clash and it didn't seem to matter years ago

It's a shame that the Raiders aren't wearing their green jersey today - with today being St Patricks Day & all that.

To my eyes there's no problem with a blue team playing a green team.

Aside from that, I think it's a shame the Raiders use the blue so much in their away jerseys - from behind it looks almost like they're the Bulldogs.

Green shorts & a green number on their white jerseys would surely better reflect their club colours for clashes, wouldn't it?

Even green socks would help.

Exactly.. This really does need to be something the Commission polices more strongly.

Another bad one was the stuff-up last week with the Sharks and Titans.

I can understand the NRL backing down from their original request that Cronulla wear their black jerseys, given the drama surrounding the club.

HOWEVER the Titans white jersey was getting a little too close to the pale blue of the Sharks.

This could easily have been avoided if Titans had a yellow or sand-coloured alternate jersey instead of a white one.

Sure, the NRL could have simply asked the Titans to wear their blue (home) jersey to an away game, but not sure how much better that would have been?

It should be easy to sort out with a little effort from the NRL, right? Just take care with the designs they approve for the competition.

Ummmm naaaa.

I think the only genuine colour clash is Penrith vs warriors. The only genuine need for an alternate....
People cry too much.

Souths v Canberra is a colour clash, as is Brisbane v Manly.

There are several of them, quite obviously, in the NRL...
