or you could just get a non ticketed membership then buy tickets for the games you want to go to

Exactly.

If people want to buy a membership just for cheap tickets they're no more supporting their team than the people who live (cheaply) on the other side of the country.

wow the membership team r shit...

Souths have sold 7000 we have sold 0

I agree.
That sort of thing is shit from our club.
I bought a WSW membership for Jumpsuit last week at the SOLD OUT local derby vs Sydney FC.
They leave us for dead with their offers and communication, and they've only existed for 6 months. The stuff they offer and the organisation of their memberships puts us to shame.
Our membership department is a shambles.

Yep it has been for ages...

Kenneth needs to sack everyone of them, start from scratch...

Needs a team of about 10-20 GOOD people, if he wants to get to 15000 members

The membership department should be one of the easier things to organize within the club so I can't understand why it is so bad. Even earlier this year people were complaining about not receiving tickets or packs for months with no response and it took to fans commenting on Phil Rothfield's blog to get him to give Spags a call and only then he addressed the issue. There must be a severe lack of communication from the administration and the membership department for them to not be aware of such problems.

Hopefully Ken Edwards can get on top of this quickly, and take more of an active role in overseeing the membership department side of things. In some ways it's probably a good thing they haven't released 2013 membership details yet as it allows him and his staff to try and improve the packages and hopefully increase our membership base for next year.

I'm thinking about getting a non ticketed membership again after a couple of years in the wilderness.
I'm getting excited!

Firstly I think the delay here has been getting the final game deal organized, If that is squared away and we know what we are doing for the year then we can start to sell yearly memberships.

That doesn't however absolve the memberships department from the blame for the last few years. Having discussed STH's and memberships on many occasions with many people I do have a bit of an insight on that team.

Many of us were critical of the team pre 2008, some thinking that the head of the team was only there to try to "score" a player. Either way that person trained up an offsider and although memberships were low for the 2009 season they ran quite will with the sometimes exception of the email list.

That team put together the new memberships package under the board, this switched STH's to members and featured heavily with our history. The 2010 memberships packages were available to buy at the 2009 Grand Final, indeed members were invited to renew the week of the grand final.

During the 2009-2010 summer the club knew that it would be losing the offsider as they were moving to a similar role at ANZ stadium. So the head of memberships was asked to train a new person, a 21 year old lady named Jack. Once Jack was trained, the head of memberships was retrenched, 3 weeks out from the 2010 season.

AFAIK Jack was responsible for the 2011 and 2012 season memberships with some help from previous members of the department during the heavy renewal season and the remainder of the off season to process the membership requests.

However in the 2011 off season, Jack was part of a claim of work place bullying and only came forward once she had secured work elsewhere I am told.

So I think this year’s memberships team is all new again. I could be wrong but it would be nice to have some consistency in the membership team.

Interesting reading MITS. If the membership department was run by a 21 year old no wonder its a wreck.

Yep, young people don't know sh*t. D*ckhead.

I'm only in my 20's myself... But you've got to question why such an important position is being handed to someone so young and therefore inexperienced. We are talking head of the members department here remember.
