Definitely a push in the back but you can't blame the refs for the capitulation that followed. Utd's defense went to derpsville again, young Blackett might make a player in a couple of years but it is all to clear that it is just too much for him at this stage.

With Pool playing like rubbish again the only solace I have got all weekend was that pretty much all the big teams dropped points overnight.

So it was a clear foul but still his fault?

I blame the ref for giving two pens that were not pens.
It got them back in the game and helped them win.

Yes we should of handled it better, but we now have many mercs in the team so this can happen.
Hopefully other than a top cb we stop trying to buy our way to the top now. We have one of the best youth setups in the world, time to start using them!!

Blackett wasn't the problem in our defence, buying a cb from Portugal and playing him left back was the problem.

Oh, so Blackett's penalty wasn't a penalty? FMD. The only people I hear blaming the referee are United fans- consider the fact that your terrible defence on the day got Leicester back in the game too.

The Blackett incident alone was a definite pen but it shouldn't have got to that point as he was fouled in the lead up 2 it was what allowed the Leicester player to get in behind him. Same in the Rafa pen was clearly fouled in the lead up, but then gets a slight touch on Varney and it's a pen. The first Penalty completely changed the momentum of the game. But yes still shit effort all around on defending.

I'll be much more confident when we have Jones and Rojo in the middle with Shaw at LB.

Could also argue the De Laat should have been sent off. Was already on a yellow when he pushed Di Maria but I'm happy with a warning in that one. But the trip from behind was def a second yellow for me. He knew Di Maria was running into space in the box and intentionally tripped him.

Man people can talk about the penalty changing the game all they like, but United should be equipped well enough to handle a momentum swing in Leicester's favour after all the money they spent. This happened against Leicester for Christ's sake, not a better team like Everton for example.

Regardless of the Blackett penalty, they were cutting you to shreds. If their player had the presence of mind to square it instead of going towards the by-line, it could have easily been 5-3 anyway.

The Rafa penalty happened in the 73rd minute. Hard done by? Yes, but considering all the calibre you had up front- and with the way they were performing that game- there was plenty of time to restore a lead. We're not talking about a Fergie time penalty here.

Nick has it. The way we reacted to a shit decision was a disgrace. Both penalties were bs because they were preceded by clear fouls, and De Laet definitely should have been sent, but there is absolutely no excuse for losing our shit the way we did. The only time I've been this ropable previously was the 6-1 loss to City at OT.

Took the words out of my mouth lol decisions should have been different but we should have fought harder after that not drop our heads and sulk about it.

I just wish that Gerrard goes off at his players like Rooney does, it might help ourselves better at times. I may be harsh but I'm actually not convinced by his leadership sometimes. He can do it in the high octane games but there are also times when he doesn't seem to be doing much. Oh, and he needs to be dropped.

Anyway...I'm unsure if there was a foul before the Blackett penalty, my mate who follows man utd is a bit 'meh' about it as well. It may only be one opinion but I think it highlights how insignificant it actually is in the scheme of things.

The pundits haven't really touched on referreeing decisions that much, and rightly so. There's always going to be games when you dotnt get the rub of the green, and blowing a lead like that istnt the way to deal with it. As much as rafael was fouled, he has never been good at containing his emotions, and it often ends up in rash outbursts. This is the way the EPL is going these days, they're going to penalise you if you unnecessarily touch someone in the box, and he should have known better. We saw a similar thing with joe Allen against spurs.

Yeah agree nick, watching Rooney blow up at his side was something is love to see Gerard do. Stevie is seriously at the heart of our problems going forward. These days all he has is a 40 yard diagonal passes and constantly letting the oppositions midfield getting in behind him. Doesn't show he cares enough and that one thing I don't think Rooney can be accused of.

That backline was dross. Rojo isn't a wingback, Smalling is worse than Evans and Blackett is still just a kid. That's why we lost, they got cut open all game. We can blame the penalties all we like, but the simple fact is that praying for Di Maria to find Van Persie or Falcao on the counter is not a sound game plan. We might see some improvement once Shaw and Jones are fit. I'm still not sure that moving Vidic on was wise.

Two points:

- One gets the feeling that if City end up beating Chelsea to the title by 2 points or less, Fat Frank will still be an idol to Chelsea fans. Such is the fantasy world they live in.

- Nice to see the man u renaissance lasted just a week.

They beat QPR, who IMO are by far the worst team in the league and so many of them thought they were back. As soon as they play a team that isn't a relegation certainty they collapse.

Leicester played football. QPR sat on their bums with no plan whatsoever.

I've been impressed by Leicester over the last 18 months. They were a clear level above in division 2 and now they're showing they have the talent and willingness to play football at this level. Very impressive for a team that hasn't been there in a long time.

Yeah Leicester will worry a lot of teams this season. Also got a few United academy grads there which is good to see.

The biggest rash outburst which stands out in my mind is when we had that fiery game at anfield years ago when Suarez tore you a new one and Jamie carragher decked nani. Rafael unleashed himself on skrtel with a 2 footed challenge and somehow stayed on the field

I love the passion he shows but he needs to learn to control it. A back line involving him Jones and Rojo will be interesting when it happens as all 3 don't hold back and either they are gonna injure someone or injure themselves.

Leicester gave us a decent workout at the Bridge too

How good is the Jamie Vardy story too - three years ago he was playing for FC Halifax Town in Division 7, last night he scores the winner against Manchester United in the Premier League...

Quality cross for the Ulloa header too.
