Who are pushing for away/alternative strip jerseys? the NRL, TV requirements or club/jersey manufactures?

Away/alternative strip jerseys are fine if there is a clash but it's not needed every game

Excuse my shoddy MS Paint work, but I hope that the Eels jersey will look something like this, and not with a giant "Dyldam" white box on the front.

- white collar is a big improvement
- piping on sleeves is good
- not keen on the vee extending to the back of the jersey just the fit their template
- hopefully no collar sponsor (wishful thinking?) looks clean as it is
- st george bank logo has been simplified, looks cleaner
- jeep better integrated
- Black box for momentum energy is ridiculous, makes it HARDER TO READ!!

Looks like hooped socks are back for the Kangaroos for the world cup. Maybe someone at CCC is reading these posts. Now all they need to do is fix those horrid shorts with chevrons on the side. Maybe ISC can bring back hooped socks for saints too.

Its definitely an improvement. I don't care for the hem trim in this case it its going to break up the transition from a white jersey to white shorts. If they go with the hooped socks and simple shorts then its a winner regardless.

Exactly, boxes can stand out but are redundant if they make the contents in the box harder to read.

Yeah, I posted pictures of this in the 2013 thread.

This is what I don't get. We have the perfect billboard jersey! A white background! Other teams with coloured jerseys get white boxes so we can read the sponsor logo. A black box makes no sense.

Check out the back of our home jersey this year, and the back of our heritage. So much easier to read on the white background.

probably all three. I remember the intial hoo-ha about this in 98 (?) when the broncos played manly and there was criticisms that the colours were too similar which led to an aqua abomination being made specifically to avoid clashes. but form there it seems "away" jerseys were "needed" probably to initially stop clashes but then became used to either designate the away team, or more likely to sell more jerseys.

realistically there's little reason for teams to use their "alternate/away strip" every time they play away from home. but i suspect that the more times you wear it the more you might sell it
