Fumbleball clubs have a 30 odd year head start when it comes to memberships, we are slowly getting there. If we have a decent season this year we may crack 20k memberships would would be a fantastic result.

I agree that the AFL have had a 30yr head start over us in this regard, but as I said in another post, the push and promotion for club memberships should've begun YEARS ago, not just in 2008 where rumours of the poker machine tax and the effect it would have on Sydney teams shouldn't have been the catalyst that led to focusing on the importance of memberships.

Gallop et al. were largely responsible for not being proactive over issues like this, and instead went to the other extreme by defending in the media issues such as why the AFL deserved more money than us in the tv rights deal.:lol: Complete utter joke, tantamount to a Coca-Cola executive or manager telling a customer to go and buy Pepsi's products instead.
