Not sure what numbers the NRL are using here. Wests were above 5000 by 10 December 2012.

It's possible each club is giving the number it members it had after x amount of days after releasing memberships, as opposed to what they were on 21 Dec each of the years?

Great work Souths, some good fortune on the field and they will be the powerhouse of Sydney to match the Broncos. A real have and have nots is a danger for the future.

Very exciting times. I just can't wait to see what the member total and crowd averages will be the season after we win a premiership.

Similar could be said for Parra. Doing so well with so little to sell on the field, when they win the big one they'll have huge numbers.

And then there's clubs like Manly...

Youre a dick.

...but i think the problem is that they have only been successful for so long. Storm have the same problem and Broncos used to have this problem.

When they win their premierships, they just seem normal, they dont have that "hard fought" feel to them that the 2005 Tigers had, for example.

Give it a few years; they will lose this current crop of players and they will suck like the rest of us. However, because of this current membership push, these team should keep most of the fans they have accumulated over this current golden run and by their next premiership, they will dig into the underdog tag and maximise the pull of new fans.

Well done Souths. As much as we bag them, and love doing it, that's a club doing lots of good things. Very positive club. The master stroke would be to add free dental care to the membership and they'll hit 100k.

Will they actually give us a breakdown of how many of these members are still alive and/or have two legs?

At this rate the number of Souths members and the number of braindead bungholes who say Souths count p pet memberships despite numerous people proving that they don't will be equal soon enough!
