dont you watch TV? ive been seeing the ad running constantly on foxtel.

I like that ad but i think the NRL are misguided if they think that is enough to get people on board. That's a part of it but you also really have to reinforce how good membership deals are in terms of monetary value. That plus they have to work on actually making sure membership are really good value. Not everyone is going to support their team just for the love of the team. It's the less hardcore fans we need on board.

Penrith having 1,500 more memberships then Manly doesn't seem right. Sea Eagles are the most consistent team in the NRL and have been a genuine premiership threat since 2007. Should be easy to get members with that kind of success.

They are restricted with the amount of undercover seats that Brookvale has according to their CEO.

Panthers and Eels should organise some sort of friendly comp next year so we can help each other get more members,kind of like that Eels/Doggies thing.

Manly for all there constant success should be getting 15k minimum. What else do Manly supporters want in order to get to a membership. If Eels had Manly success there membership numbers would be the highest ever in NRL history I think if it was to occur.

I think the main reason the NRL is pushing towards 400K memberships is because crowds will only rise when memberships are greater than avg crowd figures. If you look at other sports, member numbers are always higher than avg crowds. So although crowds look to be stagnate, it's just reaching a point where there is a bigger chance of a springboard effect in that crowds in the next 5 years will start to increase greatly as long as memberships do.

looks like david perry is turning things around at manly

last year they broke even for the first time in ages, and now hes setting membership records as well

manly were slow starters with the membership thing, as were a lot of other clubs.

theyve grown pretty fast though.

Should see some good increases this week in memberships for;

Souths - 2nd home game of the season (Sunday arvo game)
Parra - 2nd home game of the season (coming off an awesome effort against Manly & Rd1 win)
Warriors - 2nd home game of the season (no rain predicted this time)
Dragons - 1st game @ WIN stadium (two of the current table toppers)
Roosters - 2nd home game of the season (Re-match of the Grand Final)
Bulldogs - Should rake in some WA memberships playing in Perth
