Parramatta fans can rest easy – Will Hopoate is definitely coming your way and he's excited about the challenging of lifting the two-time wooden spooners back towards the top eight.
In an exclusive interview with Sportal, Will's father and former NRL star John Hopoate put to bed any talk young Hoppa wants out of his $850,000-a-year deal.
Will's two-year Mormon mission ends shortly after the 2013 grand final.
He will then link with the Eels for pre-season training as he begins the long road back to NRL stardom.
"He's got three months to go and he's itching to get back," John said of his son.
"He's not worried he's going to a club that's struggling. With him and a couple of players they have bought for next year, the club is on the rise.
"He knows there is only one way for them to go and that's up."
Hopoate jnr has been spared much of Parramatta's pain over the past two years as Mormon missionaries are forbidden from reading newspapers, using the internet or watching or listening to television or radio.
But the former NSW Origin star knows the blue and golds are on course for their second straight wooden spoon.
"He is aware because the church members tell him. They let him know and a few of them have given him the wooden spoon already," John said.
"He knows it will be a great challenge out there (and) it's massive pressure for a young bloke.
"I don't know if he'll be a saviour but he will help them out."
Coach Ricky Stuart gave a then 18-year-old Hopoate his start in Origin in 2011 and saw him dominate in that arena.
The 18-year-old went on to complete a fairytale season by playing in Manly's premiership win before quitting the game for two years.
Stuart said recently of the young centre: "Will is very important in regards to the (club's) future.
"He'll fit right in here. He's a young player we need to build around and I think we're doing that.
"We'll just keep focusing on being a competitive football team."

. England star Gareth Hock allowed to walk away from Parramatta Eels deal and remain with young family in England

Gareth Hock is staying in England.
PARRAMATTA will allow star recruit Gareth Hock to walk away from a new two-year deal and stay with his young family in England.

The firebrand backrower only signed with the Eels in late April, but has had a change of heart about moving to Australia because of complicated circumstances.

Hock's partner is pregnant with the couple's first child and is adamant about remaining in the Old Dart.

According to well-placed sources in England, the Widnes Vikings forward has settled on a desire to remain by her side at the expense of his contract with Parramatta.

Hock is on loan from Wigan, who hold his parent UK Super League contract.

Although Parramatta have formally signed the 29-year-old, they are yet to pay Wigan the agreed transfer fee, believed to be around $250,000.

The Eels first became aware of Hock's misgivings two months ago, and have been in negotiations with Wigan about the transfer falling through.

Parramatta insiders have confirmed the club has accepted the reality of Hock not wanting to swap hemispheres without his family.

"It's pretty much a welfare issue," a source close to the negotiations said. "Parramatta understand Gareth's situation and can't see how it would be useful to stand in his way when he clearly wants to remain in England."

Hock is the second forward recruit to abandon Parramatta after agreeing to terms. In March, Raiders and Queensland Origin dynamo Josh Papalii backflipped on a four-year deal to stay in Canberra.

But Hock was committed to playing for the blue and golds until the dilemma intervened.

He was also close to signing with Parramatta at the end of last year before the deal fell through.

"I want to go and play against the best players in the world and challenge myself," Hock said in April. "It is something I have always wanted to do and I want to do it now before it's too late.

"Over there it is a tough game every week.

"I am looking forward to getting some go-forward into the Parramatta pack."

The development has no affect on Parramatta's second UK recruit, Wigan's Lee Mossop, who also signed a two-year deal.

But it will clear salary cap space to give the Eels more breathing room as they attempt to move on a dozen unwanted first graders.

Cheyse Blair and Reni Maitua are the only two who look to have secured homes for next year, with Manly and Canterbury respectively.

But the Eels have agreed to carry a significant portion of their salary in the 2014 cap.

That means Parramatta will have less space available to accommodate players, a salary cap crunch not unfamiliar to Wests Tigers and Penrith.

I like the last bit. We agree to take players from other clubs to help them with their salary cap - Peats. Yet we release players to other clubs and pay a significant amount of their salary. This cycle keeps going on and on. It is funny because it was an area that we were promised would be fixed yet we are committing the same issues that got us where we are.

Just great. The loss of Hock means the loss of aggression for our pack.

I too am sick of paying players to play for another club.

Losing Hock is a big blow for next season. He would bring some much needed aggression to our forward pack. Sounds like its a lost cause.

Aggression is one thing, being a nutter is another.

Happy for Allgood and lussick to carry the tag of aggressive players.

F*CK, After we signed him, I've watch him closely for a few months and he could've been exactly the type of spark we needed up front. His style was very much like that style we delivered in the 98 semi in the second half vs Norths.
