2014 NRL Draw

Exactly. Penrith, Parra, Tigers, Dragons, Warriors will have minimal origin players. Sure are weaker then others but 2 full strength teams playing each other is better then Melb without the big 3 etc

There's every chance that Parra (Hayne and Hoppa), the Tiges (Farah and Woods) and Saints (Morris, Merrin & The Dugan), could have as many SOO reps as the Bulldogs this year (Morris & Reynolds).

Based on last years SOO squads, the only team that are likely to be overly impacted (more than 3 reps) are probably Brisbane, NQ, Melbourne and Roosters.

I'm tipping the Broncos will get at least the first 10 rounds as Friday night games..........

News Limited is still claiming Broncos v Bulldogs will be on Friday, March 7 at Suncorp Stadium despite the Queensland Reds already having a home game that night.

The Roar also have a Sunday game. Unless it's going to be a Thursday night, Broncos v Bulldogs won't happen in round one.

big hit!

"no lesson learned" is a bit harsh. They're planning to restructure the matches around that period - the lesson learned is to not have games like CBY/MEL and CBY/SYD sans-Origin players, which is what they've mentioned in articles today.

I welcome the idea... should be good.

it's still f**ked.

the season is too long already for all except the absolute rugby league fanatics and no-lifers.

the 8-week Origin period sucks the absolute life out of the NRL competition.

next season will be like every other. the initial 5 weeks will generate interest because football is back before dwindling to who the f**k cares status until about rd 20 when scenarios and matches for the playoffs become important.

stuff.co.nz has announced Manly v Canberra round 8, 27 April at Brookie or China and Manly/Roosters round 4 but also City v Country is on again. I thought we dumped that waste of time rep match that only suits NSW
