Origin and the weekly Friday Brisbane game are wank fests for Queensland, not one human gives the slightest f**k about either

Brisbane fans are like 'We're the biggest Club even though we are shit now'

Queensland fans are like 'origin is dead if we lose but if we win you gots to keep playing so we can copulate since our women look rougher than your men'

If this post were a lolly, it would be a warhead. So much bitterness.

If you took the time to remove your head from your arse, you would realize most Brisbane fans aren't happy about this either. Friday Night is not an ideal time for ANYONE to watch Sport these days.

I honestly don't think it would matter who is on first first in QLD it will still rate. But we will never know because of neins obsession with the f**king Broncos.

Yeah, the Cows and Tits sure don't get much love from 9. Why isn't the Friday night timeslot shared between the 3 QLD teams??

To suggest anything would rate as well as the Broncos is stupid. 9 haven't had the Broncos every single bloody week. They know what the numbers are like when other teams play. The Broncos are by far the most supported team in Queensland. I hate them but denying their popularity and suggesting they're just like any other club up there achieves nothing.

Everyone focuses on the negatives and just take the positives as a given.

Sure 9 have the Broncos for the first 10 rounds, but after that they arent on tv for 8 of the next 10. You lot without free to air will forget what their shitty jersey looks like by then.

PS. You all call 9 dumb but they moved all the broncos games over the origin period to pay tv to get the higher quality games on free to air. I hate 9 as much as anyone, but credit where its due.

The cowboys draw pretty decent ratings as well and they haven't really been given a chance.

Not all eyeballs are created equal. As unfair as it might sound, the networks make more profit from ratings in the cities than in regional areas. Getting 200k to watch in Brisbane is better than 200k in North Queensland.

Here's my plan to provide a fair draw for all teams (as is humanly possible).

I reckon if this was used as a starting point, it could be manipulated easily enough without compromising the fairness.

That seems like the way to go, but I'd make one slight change. You have all the top 8 teams playing each other twice and the bottom 8 the same. I'd split it up so there's four top 8 and four bottom 8 teams in each group i.e. Group 1 (1, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16) play each other twice and the same for group 2.

I think if you split into top 8 and bottom 8 you're giving a harder draw for teams finishing 6th/7th/8th, compared to the teams finishing 9th or 10th. Under this system North Queensland would have more one third of their games against the top 4, while the Gold Coast would have one third against the bottom 4, so you could see something where the teams finishing just outside the 8 finish higher up the ladder by getting easy wins against crap teams.

The draw is extremely unfair every year the only club that continually gets the rub of the green is the ponies ,and they would probably whinge about that Very wrong

I'm a Broncos man and even I don't want them to have so many Friday night games. A truely fair competition would have all clubs have an equal share of Friday night, Saturday, Sunday & Monday night games.
Broncos are not a 'local' club and there are a lot of fans that travel for 1-2 hours to go to the game. Saturdays would suit them better than Friday.
I am envious of Sydney supporters that can go to local home games.

Fair effort unit...not bad, but theres a few anomolies there.

A few of the team have more away games than home games

Team 6 has 13 (h) and 9(a)
Team 10 has 9 (h) and 13 (a)
Team 4 has 10 & 12

Just a few randoms I looked at...plus you got teams with 4 home games straight, 3 away straight.

It really must be a difficult operation

I hadn't checked all the teams, will go back & touch it up.

I also found 6 instances where a team played Monday followed by a friday game.

Should take long to tinker with to fix though

I was just reading this thread, and there's a lot of great stuff in it, but has anyone pointed out last year the NRL Nine and Fox allocated the games for Round 21-26 last year before the start of the season but just didn't tell anybody (although the Herald leaked it on their website last year) Looking at the way the NRL has released their draw it looks like they've done the same again. Last year, the only change made to the original draw was Channel 9 pleaded with Fox to get the top of the table Melbourne v Souths game, which Fox allowed but wouldn't let them swap for the delayed 15 v 16 Wests v Parra game, which is why it was left on free to air. The draw for the final 6 round should be (according to the NRL release)
