Wow what a game and 4th quarter by the Spurs. The Air conditioner was broken and had an impact on both sides but it got to Lebron. He went off with cramps and couldn't fight through, unbelievable

So are you saying the Heat couldn't handle the heat?

Lol the Heat took care of the Heat.

On a serious note, no excuses though. If Duncan and Manu and Parker and everyone else can suck it up and play through it, Lebron had to fight through. Once he went off he did not even try to get back out there, no fluids, no stretching, just gave it up.

Yeah it must be hard to put up with temperatures of 32 C when you come from a frigid place like Miami...

Unfortunate for Lebron, cramps are a bitch. Even if the Heat go down 0-2, I don't think it will be too big an issue give the changed Finals format.

Timmy D continues to amaze me. His longevity is something else, which Pop deserves a lot of credit for.

People giving Lebron crap for not going back out have no idea. He couldn't walk, it's not a matter of guts or determination. If he went back out he would have been a liability to his team.

Just another excuse to Lebron bash. If it had been Duncan everyone would be a lot more understanding .

In any event its a shame it happened, had been pretty much neck and neck the whole game until that point, was looking forward to an exciting last 6 or so minutes.

But it wasn't Duncan. It has never been Duncan because Duncan has always found a way to be there when it mattered. And that's the point.

Wade fought through, Bosh fought through, Duncan fought through, Ginobili fought through... LeBron James succumbed to the conditions.

You think Kobe or Jordan aren't on the floor in the final minutes of a NBA Finals game? No chance, you'd have to cut their leg off to get them off the court.

As I said, no idea. People bashing him who don't know the first thing about the situation. He couldn't walk. Let alone run. Why would he stay on the court and move around at a slower pace than an 80 year old? Its just a stupid suggestion and shows how badly people want an excuse to have a dig at him.

Yeah I don't think you actually understand the criticism here...

Everyone could see he couldn't continue... But the fact was... He was the only person in the game who couldn't continue...

Then you compare him with Parker... Who is older than him... And has been in doubt all playoffs with injury...

Yeah... It does make him look more fragile than he did this morning...

It certainly doesn't change my opinion of him... He's the player of this generation... He's on a stratosphere with the likes of Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Bird etc...

And when you roll in that company... You can expect the criticism to get tough and irrational at times...

Unfortunately for him... Players of that ilk are special for a reason...

Yeah I heard the comparisons with the flu game earlier today . I don't really see how it's relevant to what happened today TBH. People just bring stuff like that up to reassure themselves that Lebron hasn't reached MJ status yet.

I don't understand why cramp so severe that a guy can't move is seen as a weakness while any other injury rendering you immobile would get you a free pass but I guess that's a double standard that guys like Lebron have to live with when people are constantly trying to cut him down. Whatever, I'm sure he doesn't care and is already thinking about game 2. The Lebron bashing at any opportunity has always been funny to me that's all, and especially in times like this when it goes into overdrive.

Rams player Jack Youngblood broke his leg during the second quarter of a 1979 playoff game. He stayed in the game, played two more playoff games, and even appeared in the Pro Bowl.

You talk like it's some sort of debilitating condition that he has... It's cramp FFS!!

You stay hydrated, stretch it out and get your ass back out there...

If he truly couldn't handle cramps... Then he has embarrassing conditioning problems.

There was one athlete I know of who frequently suffered from bad cramping... But he never left the field... That was Jonah Lomu... And that was due to the kidney condition he had.

Jordan's flu game was extremely relevant... Dehydration and cramping were some of the things Jordan had to fight off...

Dwyane Wade, are you serious? Ginobili hits the ball and Wade throws his head back despite no contact and gets the call.

What a little bitch.
