Are you serious?

I actually cant recall a game where Mansour outplayed Simmons.

Simmons is out leading try scorer and line breaker. Simmo can also catch a high ball - Mansour struggles.

The only thing Mansour has over Simmo is his offload. Big whoop.

Pretty much every game they played together last year.

But i'm realistic. That was last year.

I still remain to be convinced that simmons can maintain his form. He's been fantastic this year , but it was a contract year and he's an ageing winger.

I dont see a winger who's approaching 30 getting better in a non contract year. Unless his contract contains incentives.

What is with the Mansour hate lately?
He is clearly the better winger then Simmons

Potentially yes. Stats show overwise. 3rd top tries in the comp. 2nd in linebreaks in the comp. ave 100m a game. He & Whare have a great partnership. Shows Simmons is our top winger leaving Mansour/Naiqama fighting out for the other wing spot.

There is no Mansour hate? It's all about what he brings to the team? As I have stated before he does his best work bringing the ball out of our own 20. You want a winger doing his best work in the opposition twenty. In my opinion David Simmons is the better all round product and has proven that in his time with the club. Simmons deserves more recognition for his overall consistency.

When both players were on the field at the same time, Mansour was not only the better winger but he was our best back. Comparing tries scored when he was on the wing to Simmo now is an apples to oranges comparison. Simmo last year wasnt scoring like he has since Whare and Moylan came into the team.

Give Mansour a good centre, a ball playing fullback and good form from the team as a whole and he scores a shitload of tries too. But when the team isnt going so well, you know he will be making heaps of metres still and helping us out.

They are both good players, but let's wait until next year to see who is in better form. Whoever is playing better next year = Who will make the team.

We are starting to get combos going now. I can't see them being changed. Whare/Simmons on the right. Robinson/Brown running off John. They won't change. Naiqama is a NSW Cup player atm granted he shows promise but he isn't a certainty. Mansour was great outside Jennings but has struggled since.

Do you not remember his form this season before injury? He was one of our best players and was consistently the only back looking like he was actually putting in. The team was in terrible form, but he was still playing well:

Round 1 - 19 runs, 173m gained, 8 tackle breaks, 3 offloads, 1 linebreak assist, 10 tackles, 3 missed
Round 2 - 15 runs, 132m gained, 4 tackle breaks, 3 offloads, 12 tackles / 2 missed
Round 3 - 10 runs, 84m gained, 1 tackle break, 3 offloads, 7 tackles / 1 missed
Round 4 - 20 runs, 247m gained, 8 tackle breaks, 4 offloads, 6 tackles / 3 missed
Round 5 - 15 runs, 166m gained, 7 tackle breaks, 4 offloads, 1 line breaks, 9 tackles / 2 missed
Round 6 - 16 runs, 113m gained, 8 tackles

Round 6 is the game he was injured in. But up until the moment of his injury he was averaging:
15.8 runs for 152.5m gained
4.66 tackle breaks
2.83 offloads
8.66 tackles
1.833 missed tackles

That was in a team with only one win and 5 losses, and with our only ball player being Luke Walsh. The halves were Coote and Humble. The centres were Daniela, Tighe and Naiqama. Fullback was Dean Whare, and then Wes in Round 6.

His form was outstanding until he was injured, unfortunately for him it came at the same time as other injuries that were crucial to the team turning around. Wes Naiqama got injured, and suddenly Dean Whare moves to centre and Matt Moylan comes in to fullback. We then have a fullback who is killing it and igniting our attack, and a centre who is finally playing in his best position and setting up his winger. David Simmons has never looked better then when Whare moved inside him and Moylan helped them get quality ball.

If Josh Mansour was playing on the wing outside of Lewis Brown or Dean Whare, he would have been scoring tries, averaging more metres and have more line breaks to his name. All the work he has done so far this year has been from dummy half runs and hitups. He has not had the ball with room to move to boost his stats. Brad Tighe and Geoff Daniela are not centres who create opportunities for their winger. Throw in Matt Moylan who adds another dimension to the attack, and Travis Robinson came back into first grade under the absolute best possible circumstances and David Simmons sudden try scoring form is obviously not because he has just taken his game to another level.

David Simmons is in great form at the moment. But that form is a result of changes that were forced upon the team when Wes Naiqama and Brad Tighe were injured. That changed both our centres and brought in a proper fullback. David Simmons had scored 3 tries in the first 6 games, which is still better then Mansour, but far from the form he is in now where people now think he is a superstar.

Then we bring in a fullback to play fullback, move the centre that was at fullback to centre and things suddenly click for us. David Simmons scores 8 tries in the 8 games since players were playing in position. Suddenly the first 6 weeks were nearly every one agreed that Mansour was our best back cease to exist, and David Simmons was also better then him in those games.

Go rewatch them. Go through the match day threads. Mansour was the one that impressed in an awful side.

There is No Mansour hate on here - I think he's a good player as well - just not the superstar some believe - he is.
Ive never ever seen a player IMO Pushed so much as Mansour - its like he has a 100 brothers on here and there view is do anything drop anyone providing Mansour plays - Whats poor old Simmo done ?

When he cameback he was in the centres & backrow made the same impact so maybe moved. The coach knows him. the players know him puts him in the inside running against Naiqama. We spent the 1st 6 rounds finding combos we have a right side & a fullback we wont change that anytime soon.

How good is it to be able to debate the merits of 2 quality players fighting for one spot. So much better than previous years debating whether or not a traffic cone would provide more impact than some of the numptys we had.

IMO It will be a great battle for the two wing spots next year between David Simmons, Josh Mansour, George Jennings, Kevin Naiqama and Etu Nabuli.

We can go all out explosive with Naiqama and Nabuli and have two Fijian flyers or we can go safe and explosive...or just go safe.

I like where we are as far as the wing position. You'd think Keiran Moss potentially can fit into the mix as well at some point and towards the end of the year DWZ.

I can't see Mansour being re-signed after next year given what we have on the roster.

In my opinion I'd be picking Naiqama first out of all of them, from the first grade games he has been involved in as well as what I have seen of him in NSW Cup he is all class, the perfect mix of both speed, power and skill. He just seems to be unlucky to be behind a quality back 3 at the Knights at the moment.

Mick, is Nabuli the real deal? I haven't gotten to see much of him play as he seems to be injured whenever I happen to catch the Wolves play haha
