Are people seriously complaining about a 35,000+ crowd? Parra are not one of Brisbane's massive draws whether you like it or not. 35K is still a very good crowd.

No only RaiderDave, the guy that claimed that scheduling the Storm V Warriors on Easter Monday against an AFL wouldn't have any impact whatsoever on the crowd, and that 25K kiwis would turn up regardless.

To be fair, that game would have little impact IF and I mean IF it was played at night. The AFL is finished by lets say 5:30pm I think (starts at 2:40 I think from memory). That said what is the big deal, Warriors will have a great crowd over there.

Right so your just as demented as RaiderDave.

If you have ever been to a Storm game you would know they get plenty of walk ups after the AFL is finished for other fixtures. Im not sure why you would consider 18K turning up to a match that traditionally draws 25K+ is okay.

And your last sentence is on a different topic altogether, the Warriors getting 16K to game is what I would call a "great crowd"

Wash your mouth out! RaiderDave is one of a kind and needs to be studied.:crazy:

How many actually come from the MCG to AAMI? I'm not arguing - but after 3hrs+ at the AFL and how many $$ then to go to the league for 2hours+ and more $$. It just seems like there wouldn't be too many that would do that.

I for one would, but what would be a realistic guess?

These games should be shared around a bit. That said I can see your point of view not wanting to change it, as you are correct it draws well in Melbourne. However, surely the Warriors can host it one year? The crowd difference isn't that much.

I'm not sure this year there would be as many walk ups in Melbourne anyway, there are 2 games at night in the AFL, pretty sure 1 of them at least is a big Melbourne side (don't quote me on that, just from memory as I read it in the paper somewhere).

ANZAC Day on Saturday sucks.

I remember reading quite a few Storm fans go to the ANZAC Day match at the MCG as well, sort of 'make a day of it' so to speak. I can see the appeal to it. Just feel this year would have been a lot less walkups, it is a Saturday night after all.

ANZAC Day is just really another day. I don't have any issue people not going to a football match when they want to spend that day with their loved ones, family, etc. Parramatta are not Souths, they are not huge in Brisbane. The crowd will nudge 40K, that is fine.

Last ANZAC day fell on a Friday, a public holiday so we had the corps and a large amount of retail and hospitality folk to come along.

this Saturday pretty much everything is open that would be like on a regular Saturday.

Pretty much, and then you add the fact that a lot of people (teens/young adults) go out Saturday night and that usually involves clubbing, etc. It is sort of the perfect storm. 35-40K in these circumstances is very good.
