Would you honestly take your family out to a night game involving the Bulldogs? You are more game than I am. Not a chance for me to put my livelyhood at risk.

ANZ really is just a crowd killer. At some stage the NRL is going to have to pay the clubs to unsuckle from the ANZ teat and get them a 40k stadium at Parramatta built (Souths back to SFS). Short term pain for long term gain.

- Souths/Easts/St G/Cronulla out of a revamped SFS
- Wests/Penrith/Bulldogs/Parramatta out of new Parra stadium
- Smaller drawing games to historic home grounds
- Manly shared between Central Coast and Brookvale

Simples. Good geographic spread, good public transport access to both, reasonably sized, sheltered stadiums with entertainment options outside.

if cronulla would have to play home games at the sfs, then why wouldn't manly have to???

If Souths move back to the SFS then they have lost me and many fans like me who live in the outer stretches of the western suburbs as season ticket holders.

Like ANZ Stadium or not, but it is centrally located for just about all fans in Sydney.

another reason why souths chose anz stadium is they keep all the money they make from merchandise sales there, whereas the sfs wanted a percentage of merchandise sales

You can get to the SFS by train from Cronulla.

So be it. They would pick up more from where they actually have their origins that don't go to ANZ now. Even if it worked out more or less the same, 20k in a 40k stadium is better than in a 80k stadium, both for the TV viewers and the people at the ground.

well to central station, yeah, but you can get to the city from manly by bus, ferry, car

i'm not sure if the attendances and memberships would increase if souths played their home games at the sfs. i have read alot of opinions from souths fans on social media and alot of people who live in the south sydney area don't seem to mind travelling to olympic park because it isn't that far away, doesn't take long on the train, train station is right near the stadium, and much better parking at anz stadium. When you have heaps of fans all over sydney then olympic park may be better since it's more central in the sydney metro area. it is an 80k stadium but they close the top levels off. who knows, next time they might get a better deal from the sfs (scg trust), but they didn't last time

Have to disagree with you here. I think Souths would lose more then they would gain in going back to the SFS. You only need to see how many fans from the far western suburbs are at Lidcombe station before and after the game to know how many Souths fans there are from that area of Sydney. Your plan of moving back to the SFS would take away the opportunity for many of these fans to attend games.

As I said ANZ is centrally located for fans.

yeah dont mind that, although Sharks will stay with the 200 mil redevelopment project at shark park.

and souths will probably stay at anz or out west. they already moved out of SFS once.

How is ANZ a crowd killer? Average crowds at ANZ are higher.

I get that it could be a better stadium (more rectangular etc.) But it is more centrally located and active in growing crowds and providing financial security than any other stadiums
