disappointing week considering a few quality Sydney match-ups.

No way there was 9.5k there. There was at least a couple of thousand less today then when we got that same crowd against the Knights last year.
Why would the Knights get 15k, when they got the same crowd against the Warriors in round one and then 20k against Panthers on Saturday?
We're undefeated, having best start in a decade. There is pride in the team. It's Easter Saturday against St George, who always bring a fair support with them. Newcastle has the very potential to be 25,000.
Edit:
20k for Rabbits V Dogs? Again, madness. There Easter crowds have historically been huge. Considering both teams form, should be 40,000-50,000.
Look at the post in context
I think its best to just have low expectations from now on or perhaps no expectations, that way so many forumerwill not be disappointed.
Crowd wasn't too bad mate given the circumstances and against a Raiders side who have about 5 supporters in Sydney.
Crowds are down again this season across all clubs.
Not sure about that but dont have the figures in front of me. Next week should bring the league average back to a respectible level and a strong newcastle will help as well.
Who agrees that more teams and less games is the way to go? As in move to 18 teams with 11 home games as a first step. Just way to much footy in sydney to start with, most sydney clubs will play in the metro region 16 or 17 times a season. At the minute too much supply not enough demand and circumstances like too many night games and ticket prices driving down demand. For an organisation with some many people now with financial know how i would have thought supply and demand a simple thing to understand
Problem is TV, they want and will pay for the content.
No issues with your suggestion however
What's the point of having low expectations that aren't even based on reality?
10,000 for Roosters against Raiders up against the Cricket World Cup final is about what I expected. i couldn't be there as i have family commitments and day games are impossible to get to. Won't be there next week either as i will be in Canberra.
I would go watch the Raiders, but they're playing at Brookvale
Next home game is 24th of April
Then one home game scheduled for May and one for June
This years scheduling is horrendous
