The new members at the scg is fantastic. Heaps of great food options (burgers, fish and chips, pizzas but trendy shit not just a cheese burger, great hot chips), about 10 different types of full strength beer.

Will be attending most swans games this year simply for that. It's just as good as going to a pub but then you get live sport as an added bonus. With the NRL at ANZ it's the opposite, get live sport heaps far away then shit food and drink.

SCG have it perfect and the members there is wonderful especially after the feedback from others before they did it.

Doesn't the Brewery only revert to mids for major event games. I thought u could still get full strength for run of the mill club games? Haven't been there for a while though so it might have changed.

No idea I don't go to the place unless I absolutely have to. It is a shocking place.

game experience is a big factor. full strength grog. meh. not so much.

can you not get through a couple of hrs drinking mids? Really? is it such an affront to your macho image that even drinking a mid is out of bounds?

yes, food and drinks are expensive at the footy, that includes beer. if mid strength beer is stopping you attending the footy, maybe you need to re-think why you go in the first place.

Of course i could get through it but i dont want to so l save my money. If i need to re think my reasons im just not going to go obviously. Im not an alcoholic and i dont even drink a lot anymore but the footy itself isnt enough to get me to go, i like to have some beers and enjoy myself and mid strength overpriced beers takes away from that but thats just me.

They did this for the Bulldogs v Parra game and the crowd was only 27k.

I thought they only opened it up when the GA bays were almost selling out.

Everyone at the footy can eat food.

Nobody under 18 can drink.

Food prices are a definite issue as opposed to f**king alcohol.

It?s like this, you are saying alcohol isn?t/shouldn?t be a contributing factor to not turning up to the football. We here at LU represent a good portion of the fanatical supporters that go to every home game and we are split on whether alcohol is/should be an issue.

Imagine what the average Joe is thinking when deciding to go to the football. $35 for 4 x half strength warm beers as opposed to ~$20 for 4 ice cold full strength beers in front of a big screen at the local would certainly be a show stopper for a lot of people.

Yeah however Cat 1 was still available for the Dogs V Parra game!
Cat 2 only Level 1 is available for sale, Level 4 I think is reserved for South Sydney Members (Cat 1 Level 4 was on sale, NOT reserved).

Yesterday the PAX was over 21,000... To put it in perspective, last year on Thursday night the PAX was 17,000 for this game and it got 43,000! Good Friday always gets a MASSIVE walk-up (Easter show), the weather will be the difference between a crowd of 50+ or 40.

Definitely not talking it up... Talking it up, I'd say a crowd of 55K+!

40K is guaranteed unless it absolutely buckets down... The crowd will be around the 50,000 give or take if the weather is fine!

a good article on the back page of the Telegraph today promoting the Rabbitohs v Bulldogs game. Given good weather tomorrow I have no doubt a crowd of 40,000 plus.

The key is for the weather to be good in the morning to lunchtime when people are making their decision whether to go or not... if it's fine there will be 40K easily.
