Any major games coming up that will potentially have a crowd over 30,000 or 40,000?

Looking at the draw up to Round 20 (which is where the tv allocations finish), games that could get over 40k:

Rd 8: Roosters vs Dragons at Allianz,
Broncos vs Eels at Suncorp
Rd 13: Bulldogs vs Dragons at ANZ
Rd 20: Broncos vs Titans at Suncorp

Games that could get over 30k:

Rd 8: Bulldogs vs Tigers at ANZ
Rd 19: Eels vs Bulldogs at ANZ
Dragons vs Rabbitohs at SCG

Plus any of the other games held at Suncorp

In other words, I don't think it's looking very good. There's some that could potentially crack 30k had they not been held during Origin. Once again, crowds are going to get hit bad during the 6-7 week Origin period, hence bringing on the obligatory bitching that State of Origin should be held on stand-alone weekends, which face it, will NEVER happen whilst Ch9 have the FTA rights.

It's funny how people make outrageous predictions for crowds. 30k for this game is ridiculous. Idiots. 20k is about par for these 2.

Excluding double headers, they got 21,000 against the Roosters in 2008. Thats their highest home crowd at ANZ.

I think the Bris/Parra and Dragons/Roosters games could get over 40,000 or pretty close to.

That shot from behind the dragons deadball line back over the field with the other 3 stands in view was f**king embarrassing.

That crowd barely looks like 20k............ Shame.

Imo it was an easy one to call less than 20k. Dont get me wrong it should not be that poor and it is bloody poor but the realists amoung us will know this was coming.

The nrl has provided rivalry matchups on a sunday afternoon at big stadia but the fans for multiple reasons have not responded. Reasons, imo anz stadium is not an enjoyable ground in terms of view and surroundings. Also there is massive apathy across the fanbases and an attitude of i can stay at home and watch on tv. If the experience where better it should be enough to override the apathy but that will require a decent rectangular ground in the west and upgrading of existing stadia.

Would be interesting to see the percentage of members using the reciprocal rights to access away games at anz, would not be very high imo

Mediocrity for the WIN!!!!!!

I agree we shouldn't be playing every game at kogarah/wollongong. Mind you I'm one of the few saints fans to say that.

However, the way ourr disgraceful management went about this plan, and the execution of it, is deplorable.

- to spring a change like this on the fans without any consultation or warning is the definition of how not to manage change.
- to play games at 5 home grounds with a geographical spread from moore park to homebush to wollongong, with a target market that are fiercely tribal, is ridiculous.
- to take 3 home games to our opponent's home ground is beyond puzzling.

It's easy for outsiders to bag saints, but you know a sure fire way to increase crowds? Have every team take their home game against the Broncos to Suncorp. Do you see clubs doing that though?

We need our identity back. I would prefer 4 Kogarah / 4 WIN / 4 ANZ or SFS than the current arrangement.

When we play at SFS once per year (against the tenants, the Roosters), once at SCG (against souths, in their spiritual territory) and twice at ANZ (against primary tenants Dogs plus Tigers)- then it is hard for us to feel any ownership of these grounds, to feel any pride, to be in any sort of habit of going.

Should've been 6 games at Wollongong, 6 games at SFS since 2001 or whenever it was they first moved to the SFS. Given the years to grow, getting everyone used to going to SFS for home games, they'd have steadily grown to pretty strong regular crowds IMO (taken better advantage of the Bennett years when they were winning, anyway).

I actually agree with you, although not many saints fans would.

5 SFS, 2 KOGARAH, 5 Wollongong for the last 14 years would have been ideal.
