Nearly march and no word of venues yet for the NZ tour, they were supposed to announce this late 2014. As usual no consideration for travelling fans.

The CEO's of the NRL and RFL have spoken of a 12 year plan being locked in but they cannot even get a calender for 2015 so does not fill me with confidence. Have not even heard a peep about the series since november.

Just seems to me that the big shots pay lip service to the international game annually at the same time of year with the same promises and the same lack of any action. Total and utter BS

Yeah I was hoping for that too, but looking at the schedule, now seems impossible to fit it in anywhere.

17 Oct: France vs Ireland
24 Oct: England vs France
31 Oct: Wales vs France
1 Nov: England vs NZ, KC Stadium, Hull
7 Nov: England vs NZ, Olympic Stadium, London
7 Nov: France vs Scotland
14 Nov: England vs NZ, DW Stadium, Wigan

Wales should really be bidding to host them in that week before they play their first match with England.

I think they're an observer.
They're listed:
http://www.aprlc.com/member-nations/observer-members/
as an observer of the APRLC, maybe that crosses over?

Also looking at the RLIF website have they silently dropped the registered player requirement out of the membership criterea?
I swear there used to be a 500 player requirement to become a Full Member.
That would've been a problem for Niue for sure

I wish all these games were on TV and had some promotion behind them in their homelands to get some crowds to add to the event. Bloody Australia, my country, the best and the biggest at Rugby League, the most athletic full contact team sport on Earth wanting a break instead of fixing the schedule of the NRL/ESL/SOO/Internationals so we can get a decent balance between the rep game and the very important club game... well both are important and I understand at times where clubs come from, but Australia being the biggest and best no matter what should be able to produce a team each and every single year, if players are injured or do not want to play, ok, we'll pick the next best. If they have a willing opponent, they should not be backing down and taking a break!

That's what it should be like, People like seeing the Australian Kangaroos do their stuff just like any other national Representative team in any other sport and the Kangaroos do it with no fanfare or promotion yet still get great results all round. But they need a rest

This.

Such a big shame if that mid-year test at Suncorp is the only one they play this year. That's absolutely pathetic and it's this mentality that's holding the international game back from truly reaching it's growth potential: the perception that tests are a waste of time and therefore you can just pick and choose whenever you feel like playing for Australia. Try telling that to all those players right up to the SL-war (before the international game's reputation nosedived after the 1995 World Cup) who wore the Kangaroos jersey and only got paid a very small % of the money players players in the NRL get paid today: Lewis, Sterling, Meninga, Fulton etc.

International RL fans in this country (irrespective of whether you follow Australia or someone else) deserve MUCH, MUCH better. As you said, if the marquee incumbents want a rest, fine, just pick other players instead. Your post does overlap with several issues I mentioned in this thread:

http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=444727

Shows to go where the ARL's priorities are. If a State of Origin match was announced for next week, you watch....the incumbents who are fit to play would all immediately put up their hands to be selected.

Interesting that they have a rest period, like they did in 2012 a year before the World Cup but they'll play 4 nations in 2016, one year before the World Cup. :?

Its probably been explained to me a few times as to why Australia arent playing test matches after the NRL season.

But its very disappointing, I mean we're co-hosting the World Cup in 2017, and we'll probably only have a few games in Oz before then.
