Tigers now 8952, still down from where they were at the equivalent time last year.

That's a great effort for a club that's still a bit of a basket case off the field. Definitely will be the club to challenge Souths in the near future.

Exactly, imagine if we can start winning games of football consistently.

Huge congratulations to all South Sydney members. Onwards and upwards!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 35,007 Members Strong‏

For the first time in Rabbitohs and NRL history, a Club has surpassed the 35,000 Member mark, with Rabbitohs Membership now standing at 35,007 proud Members as of this morning (Friday).

South Sydney’s Membership numbers have come a long way, increasing every year over the past decade, with the Club enjoying unprecedented growth since 2006, when the Club’s Membership tally stood at 7,568.

And that record is set to continue to grow throughout 2015, with five-game regional, three-game and supporter Memberships all still available to purchase.

“South Sydney is nothing without its Members,” Rabbitohs CEO Mr John Lee said today.

“We are a Club that is driven and supported by the commitment of our Members and our ongoing commitment to them.

“This achievement is an absolute credit to our outstanding supporter-base that has stuck by our Club in the past and will be with us in the future.”

So I found out today that in order to play in Souths junior leagues you have to sign up for a Souths junior membership with your rego - total cost $5.

Do those memberships count towards this 35000 total? If so that's pretty underhanded padding of the numbers

I still dont understand why this is such a sore point (assuming it is true)....

Clubs should have to show ticketed/non ticketed. Let's be honest we really mainly care about ticketed as that has a direct reflection of attendances.

I guess it is underhanded if your marketing that you have more fans than anyone else when in reality those kids might not be fans of Souths at all.

Forcing free memberships on kids playing in your junior comps then counting them towards your numbers is a bit dodgy, particularly when you have clubs not in your area (the person who told me about this has a kid registered in the Newtown area, controlled by Souths).

Imagine if the Broncos or NQ did that. We would both dwarf every other clubs membership.

If that is in fact happening at Souths than its pretty dodgy.
