I can remember commenting with friends in the early 90's about how good that exact circumstance looked on a Friday Night Football telecast. There was no conflict, no confusion, no need for alternates. Just class.

Side note: If I recall correctly (almost certain it was that game), NBN came back from the first ad break of the delayed telecast with the live feed, so a 6-0 score line after 7/8 minutes was well into the second half and 4 or 5 tries gone, before they corrected a minute later.

Are you Rain Man or something? Those are two f**king strange things to remember.

An alternate jersey when teams look similar like this, I have no problem with. Having a different Jersey just because you're playing away is stupid. Teams like the raiders should almost never need an alternate.

Worst one Ive ever seem was this game at Mt Smart between the Warriors and Bears this year. Sitting up in the stands it was impossible to separate them...

Parra heritage jumper should be the home strip

It is a great jersey, just need to tweak it slightly, example the shape of the blue on the back and how it covered the stripes. The 2012 version of this jersey was perfect.

Home strip has one more year, but the away strip can be changed from next year. Stay tuned.

I can understand why they dont do it though...

If a team goes 50/50 for their jersey colours they need to pick some random 3rd colour (usually white/grey) to make a proper alternative. The Eels, in having a single dominant colour for their Main means they canuse the second for their Alternate.

I remember a few years back, a QLD Cup game, Norths Devils and Northern Pride. Both teams wore similar colours and you can only tell them apart as the Pride jumpers had a shade of dark blue at the front, but from the back they both wore light blue jerseys and dark blue shorts.

Maybe some teams in both NSW and QLD Comps don't have away jumpers, or there's some sort of confusion as to what jumpers they would were on the day. I know Wentworthville have an away jumper and an alternate jumper, a white one with blue and gold stripes but they used play in the Parramatta strip, although it was a mistake when they wore it at Henson Park a couple years back.

All teams (in Intrust Super Cup anyway) do have an away kit, but some the changes are so minor that there isn't really any point in having them (Tweed, Easts are two of the main ones).

There is a pretty big lack of communications between the teams too. For example, most teams home jerseys are dark, away white. Most times the away team will just wear their away jersey for EVERY away game, without thinking at all. Because there are a few teams that wear white at home (PNG, Souths, Tweed), clashes happen often.

It really shouldn't be difficult, someone at the QRL/NSW could easily just send out an email every week telling which team what jersey to wear.

wtf howcome every other team that has side panels on field, can sell a replica at the shops without side panels, so it looks awesome. but the broncos refuse to, and all our heritage jerseys for sale are ruined because of it... grrr

mmmm another thing pissing me off about the broncos, EVERY (i think) other team, releases a shop replica which is bang on to what you see on telly (minus the grip bumps, and the elastic side panels) the jersey even the same cut as on the field- sleeves that join to the collar instead of shoulder, however the broncos jersey you can buy is about as good as quality as a $45 'classic' cut you can get from Strudwicks Sports.. the sleeves stop at the shoulders and everything is square and ugly...

annoyed broncos fan rant over...

Parra's heritage jersey for Saturday's game v Dragons

I am usually side panels #1 hater, but for some reason, I'm not sure why, I actually don't mind the side panels on this jersey.

Maybe having the extra yellow balances the jersey out more.
