be interesting to see how much the Brisbane ratings change once daylight saving ends and it's shown live

showing it delayed would decrease ratings plus it also makes the two Sunday games overlap for 30 minutes

will be live from NZ next Sunday at 10.30am, the early timeslot probably won't give much of an indication yet though.

Huge ratings in Sydney for yesterday's Sunday game.

Nearly 400k in Sydney, which was unheard in years gone by when the match was delayed. In fact, more than half of that amount was considered a success last year. Second-highest rated program in Sydney behind Nine News (yes, even beating all the other primetime programs). The fact the match finished after 6pm (6:10pm to be exact) was beneficial rather than detrimental for Nine News, hence why I can see the matches being kicking off at 4:15pm rather than 4pm.

Live Sunday football on FTA is here to stay. Still can't believe it took Ch9 until this season to ditch the delayed broadcast. Now, if only they could shift the delayed Friday night match to another timeslot.......

Surely there is more benefit for Nine to have the big lead in audience for their news, than there is in delaying the game and having more advertising time.

Winning the dick measuring contest over Seven is the most important thing after all.

Going late helps their News as it "locks" in the audience that would normally switch to 7.

I.e its too late to switch because you will miss the headlines

Surely by now advertisers must have realised the benefit of advertising in live sport. With delayed broadcasts the ads are just a chance to have a chat, go to the toilet or get a drink (or flick over channels for a second). With live ads you don't have the time to do this and people actually end up watching them.

If i was advertising a product during a sporting event no way in hell would i touch the breaks on a delayed broadcast.

Brisbane's ratings will DEFINITELY rise when Sunday footy is shown live there. Maybe not their first match on Easter Sunday (Roosters vs Sharks), but from the following weeks onwards (Dragons vs Bulldogs) there are some good matchups from then to Rd 20 which have the potential to draw a large audience.
