So, all you chaps who laughed at me last week when I suggested that Lyon will be the bigger attacking threat (of our two spinners) in the following tests, and accused me of not watching the game and relying on stats....anything to say?

I missed your post last week but totally agree.

Anyone that thinks O'Keeffe is a better spinner than Lyon is kidding themselves.

Lyon's biggest issue is when he starts to bowl too quickly. Besides that he is a great off spinner.

Very good 1st day after losing the toss.

However, we need to get at least 300 in this first innings as chasing any sort of total will be near impossible batting last on this pitch.

One fantastic innings doesn't make Lyon a great spinner. He got the right end and bowled very well...but he's done that before in his career and never ever kicked on. We'll see in three tests time. I sincerely doubt he'll be anywhere near as good on the pitch at Dharamasala for eg, which is very low and slow.

How weird is the pitch? Looked like a typical Bangalore road after the first session...certainly not the kind of pitch India can blame for their poor total

Lyon is the best off spinner to ever play for Aus.

It is just that people are infatuated with Warne that he is underrated.

He's really not, but anyway. He has the most wickets, that much is true. He's an ok bowler, and that's really the best we have at the moment. An ok right arm offie or a slightly better left arm offie.

I can understand your points as Lyon can be so frustrating.

However, when Lyon bowls at his best i.e. not bowling too fast, he is our best off spinner ever.
