No, a lot of cricket fans get unbelievably frustrated by him because;

-He goes through long periods of being worse than a grade cricket offie with no consequences
-He goes through periods of bowling defensively and not even trying to get a wicket
-He has an obsession with bowling around the wicket which makes it almost impossible for him to get a wicket
-He has the variation of a straight line
-He rarely turns the ball

At his best, he's a solid bowler. He's very rarely at his best.
I don't want to get in a massive fight with you.

However Lyon has well over 200 test wickets.

Surely that means he is better than a "solid bowler" at his best.

Ishant Sharma has 200 test wickets. Andy Caddick has 200 test wickets. Plodder Siddle has 200 test wickets.

It doesn't make him a superstar, I'll leave it there.

I never said Lyon is a superstar. My point was he is far better than O'Keeffe.

Don't twist the truth. @fakenews.

I didn't say you did. I said 200 wickets is hardly a measure of excellence.

Sharma is deadset ordinary and he has 200 wickets, so why does 200 wickets automatically make Lyon better than solid?

I will ask who is the last aussie off spinner to get over 200 wickets, possibly even near 250 and still plenty of time in his career.

I call it the Warne factor. We may never see another Warne but there are some people who are never happy.

That is why he is better than solid.

Cummins obviously killed Renshaw's dog.

I stopped fielding in the slips for that exact reason. Even the easy ones aren't fking easy. Lol. Poor Smiley was obviously still rattled by the first drop, that last one was about as easy as they come when a bloke is bowling 145km.

There's an article in the SMH about it, by Andrew Wu.

The term joined the cricket vernacular after a Test between England and West Indies at Old Trafford in 1933, when Ellis "Puss" Achong, a left-arm finger-spinner (orthodox) and the first Test cricketer of Chinese ancestry, dismissed English batsman Walter Robins with wrist-spin.

According to legend, as Robins walked back to the pavilion, he said ,"Fancy being done by a bloody Chinaman". It has stuck ever since.

The term Chinaman has historically been used in a contemptuous manner to describe the Chinese, whereas its equivalents - Englishman, Frenchman, Dutchman - have not. Hands up those who would dare call their Chinese colleague a "ching chong Chinaman"?
