who mentioned Kimmorley?Forget Kimmorley
who's a big name coach? I assume that you mean Cleary as he is unemployed at the moment however, there are coaches who have learnt their trade by being assistant coaches, e.g.they need to spend big dollars on a big name coach
Yes Tiger05 and the Chairperson has a media background and yet JT has and no doubt will continue to have some very bad days when it comes to the press and speaking 1st and then thinking rather than the other way around. There is a lot wrong with JT isn't there. He doesn't handle himself well.
macnaz, the article the other day mentioned Brooks and Moses, perhaps they to need to think before speaking to the press, they no doubt would love to see Payten back as their coach as he bought them and others up through the 20's. I don't think they are making excuses but they now just have to get on with it and earn the dollars that they are being played.the players have to stop making excuses and wanting to pick their coach.
A real hands on manager you cant pretend this type of thing from 9 to 5 you must be it!
It is so obvious to me how modern "management" very often falls short of the simple stuff, over the last few years the main types of management taught on the various "Xmas bauble" MBA courses are in a word, not worth the paper they are written on.
Certainly most of the new styles of management I have come across are based on bullying, threats , blame culture and some bizarre artificial "team" dreamt up by FAR (Human resources rephrased to indicate F*** All Resources), if I see a company slogan or mission statement that combines the words "passionate" or "value people" .
I run a mile.
Teams evolve naturally on mutual respect, sincerity, trust and a willingness to help and look out for your colleagues, neither, of which are part of the modern management technique, which cannot co-exist with this model. You cannot artificially force a team to work unless they want to, and you certainly cannot conjure up sincerity through threat.
You can't learn this (at least not from a useless and fashionable MBA course) it has to come naturally and confidently, there is nothing wrong with confidence, but with it must come humility and self-doubt, otherwise you are a conceited ******.
Which sadly, most modern managers are.
I can definitely relate to that article at work .
Taylor is a major league dickhead. He has a history of behaving like a dickhead,he talks like a dickhead & he looks like a dickhead. This infantile is not fit to be a man manager/coach of a group of elite athletes.
Notwithstanding the fact that our roster isn't great there are plenty of coaches who would've done a lot better with this team in '15.A number of players with a tonne of ability went backwards last year !
And another piece that makes you think, well me at least, if it's from Concord as well, both pieces use the word politics. All is not well in the Tigers' lair
This isn't what you want to hear if you are a Wests Tigers supporter.
Sports Confidential has been told by several ever-reliable source that everything isn't hunky-dory at Concord.
No doubt this will be denied but we understand there is still simmering tension around the club and some of the younger players are confused about their role and the politics.
Which NRL club CEO is under increasing pressure?
Our man is doing a fair job but cannot seem to overcome club politics.
Stress may eventually push him out of his $350,000-a-year gig.
