The crowd is actually pathetic for these two Sydney teams especially when the Broncos will get 45k plus tomorrow night. If this game was played on a Friday night would it be much difference?

Not defending my club here as its a garbage crowd. But on a weeknight what are fans to do? The nrl has driven its own fan base to the their tv sets with 2 mid week games every full round. There are less excises for saturday and sunday games but until the nrl gets real and has a fan friendly schedule the crowds will be stagnant at best or continue to decline.

P.S it.only gets worst next year......Friday 6pm......

The ARLC on big bucks aren't concerned, why should we? I'm sure in a generation when we're still getting these crowds, the commissioners & bigwigs at HQ will still be getting big money

Embarrassing crowd. Not much else to say really, I hesitate to say its the worst crowd I've seen in the NRL but it wouldn't be far off.

Because it makes the game more fun to watch both at the ground and on tv. Because it brings in far more revenue to the game than tiny crowds. It's also great for sponsorships and is in part why the AFL is far ahead of us in that regard.

Embarrassing? lol
What were some of you expecting on a Thursday Night, a work night with Moore Park traffic??? There was quite a few blue and white supporters there. Could have been even worse against an interstate team.

What did people expect?

The game starts at 8pm won't finish till 9.45pm.

I personally wake up 4.45am every morning (Work day), I live in Greenacre, IF I went to the game I wouldn't get home till 11pm at the minimum...

If this game was played on Friday, Saturday or Sunday it would've got 5-6K more at a minimum.

I went. I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to go watch a loser team on a freezing work night though. While we persist with Thursday and Monday games for television ratings we will continue to get shit crowds. That's the choice the game's administrators have made, TV money over all other considerations.

I live in Maroubra and if I waited for a bus rather than forking out for a taxi i probably would have got home after 11.

I seem to recall Perth lost about 7000 off their Souths crowd this year.

We'll probably lose even more for the manly game. That's what you get when you f*ck your fanbase around, be it in Perth with expansion, East coast with sht kick off times, origin fans with ticket prices or anywhere else. Business 101, give the customers what they want. Sadly NRL consider TV the customer rather than the fans.
