With the new inner city stadium in t ville, maybe monday nights could be a niche thing they could do up there, 4 times a year or something.... its the only warm place that plays nrl

The "extra" time slot could reasonably easily be worked by rotating around.

26 rounds.

6 are origin affected with byes meaning the shitty extra timeslot disappears

12 home games for the Warriors. They should only ever play at 8pm Friday (6pm AEST slot), 7.30pm Saturday (9.30pm AEST) or 2pm Sunday (12pm AEST).

That takes care of 18/26 weeks.

For the remaining 8 weeks, between public holiday Monday afternoon games, other clubs taking home games to NZ and Perth etc, it should be easy enough to fill awkward time slots in convenient times for the locals.

I really don't understand why Fox wanted this 6pm Friday timeslot?

The only thing I can think of is the pub/club subscribers who pay way more than individuals have pushed for it?

To compete with the news on FTA.

Yeah. They'll have the 6pm game to themselves which will give them a strong lead in to the 730pm game.

They're competing against 9 for the same viewers. Silly that they need a lead in game to do that. The quality of their coverage will do the job alone.

Crowds over the season and compared to 2015

2016 after Round 16 (117 matches)
Season Total: 1,836,687
Season Average: 15,698

2015 after Round 16 (118 matches)
Season Total: 1,799,530
Season Average: 15,250

The average has fallen sharply over the past 3 weeks, although that's with arguably Brisbane's lowest drawing home game, shitloads of bad weather and plenty of other factors at play. And it's still comfortably ahead of last year.

Looking ahead - Broncos v Storm should be a corker crowd wise this Friday and should keep the average ticking in an upward direction.
