What's the record rating for a pay tv nrl game
420 odd K ?
So many sets of fans watching this game working out what will need to happen tomorrow & with finals next week based on it's result.

I'd say the record could go

It must be members that haven't turned up.

Something needs to be done in the NRL about members re-selling their seats if they're not attending the game - it's so much of a better look when a place is jam packed.

The whole state of wisconsin has less than 6m

Pretty big direct catchment

Anyway they only need 28k to show every fortnight

By my reckoning Wisconsin's 5.75million plus the 300k odd in the U.P. makes 6.05 million. Those are the areas identified by the club as direct catchment and do not include the vast national appeal of the team or isolated geographic support which can be found in parts of Iowa and Nebraska.

Seems GA members haven't shown up because they were worried they'd not get in as per the warnings. Oh well - still a healthy crowd leading into finals

Long over due for the Storm to get a sell-out crowd, to think it took a minor premiership on the line and no AFL to get it. It's fantastic and hopefully the Storm should be aiming to get 20k+ average next year considering how successful they have been for a long-time it should pay dividends for once. The Lions/Reds once they were successful easily translated to big crowds yet the Storm had all that success and couldn't really translate to only recently.

It's something the Storm/NRL need to look into by improving there presence in the Melbourne market, the other codes up in QLD get pretty good coverage compared to the Storm no matter there position on the ladder.

I feel interstate teams are held to a different standard. Assuming the crowd is 24k or so how many times have you seen a Sydney club do that against a team with damn near zero away support?

I agree that the storm probably should have done better but lets not pretend the Melbourne market isn't a super competitive one. Also it's league in general has struggled to grow crowds for the past 10 years, this isn't isolated to the storm.

Seems I was wrong on all counts!
Still very strong crowds regardless. Only doing off the radio report by the way.
In terms of next week , Melbourne will probably draw a better attendance against nq than Cronulla so that much is good.
Cronulla v Canberra should be a good crowd too.

This seems to happen in rugby league a fair bit. The media report a sell-out only for us to be underwhelmed.
