New Year, Same Faces, Same arguments, Same POOR CROWDS.

Besides Brisbane lets face it, crowds are really not going to get any better. Especially in Sydney with teams playing out of suburban grounds.
At least the Govt has stated that 2/3 of all games have to now be played out of the 3 main stadiums. That can only mean good things for the future.

You want to deny the 18 thousand shire people who had an absolute whale of a time yesterday local rugby league? Nice one jerk-off.

How long since Cronulla last got an18k crowd, how long till next one? If they could play St George every week on a Sunday afternoon and guarantee sunshine you might have an argument for a decent crowd at a suburban ground lol.

they got 19,146 last game, against manly 2015 so, up up Cronulla. Never been to Shark Park but is it a good place to watch footy?

Knights fans have surprised before with their downouts in the rough patches. If the form continues then i would expect low crowds but this early in the season i would still say they are capable of 15-16k

We always had some sort of hope we would come good. Not this year - we are pretty much resigned to sucking until about 5 years after something drastic changes, so probably forever.

to be fair i think only 6000 people who had reserved seating not showing up for the broncos game was pretty good considering how much it was pissing down on friday, 7pm is well too early, i knew the time well in advance and i only just made it before kickoff where it was clear to see other fans had no idea because only 1/5 of the stadium was full at kickoff, it took around 30 min to get to the final crowd. I believe people walking into a game in full flight took away from the crowd as the anticipation never grew, thus why it was pretty dull there. Although i still enjoyed it

Agree. 35,230 does look disappointing, however I recall a few posters here claiming that if its raining in the morning it will deter families and workers from attending, and at times the rain was pretty full on, particularly in the bayside and southern areas which are pretty important for Broncos crowds. Nonetheless, I expected more Suncorp members to show, along with more rock ups, there were pretty much none, no lines outside the stadium and not even one section sold out from rock ups alone.

Their last home game of season 2015. Which was against Manly. On a Saturday at 530.

Need some ice for that burn?

Both crowds were awesome, for Cronulla. So 2 out of 24 decent crowds? I wish every ti e I turned on a Cronulla home game ground was that full.
I'm not stupid enough to think it was normal. Celebrate the successes but don't let them blind you to the consistent possibilities.

Want to tell us what % of suburban ground games reach 17k plus? Let's be honest anything under that is hardly setting the world of sport alight in terms of attendances for a professional game that is number one in that region. At this point we count anything over 15k as good which shows how low we are setting the bar in terms of crowds.

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon champ.

Oh well. I was relying on my memory banks because I have a team to support and I was there. It was grey and dark hence I thought it was a 530 kick off.

Anyway; it must really burn you up that the Sharks are doing so well. Development dollars rolling in, full deck of sponsors, excellent roster and bucking the NRL trend of sliding crowds.

What about this bullshit.

http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/south-sydney-rabbitohs-give-the-boot-to-member-over-scum-banner/story-fn2mcuj6-1226718565768

Posting on phone so can't quote article, but it about the guy who made this banner having his souths membership cancelled.

...In their biggest, once-a-year derby. but yes, lets cherry pick the massive outlier.

I think we should suspend the discussion until 2017 when Cronulla get their next +16k crowd....
