Are you suggesting that all fans of all Sydney clubs live within a 20 minute drive of ANZ and/or Allianz?
People travel from Goulburn, Gosford, Newcastle, Wollongong and beyond every weekend for Sydney clubs. Its just what fans do. It's not new.

Lol
The point continues to elude you
It's quite amazing.

A different era?

Where Australia's (and Sydney's) population was much smaller and it took longer to get to Sydney?

By gosh Dave, you're right.
Back in those days, all finals were at the SFS/SCG
This meant plenty of tickets were sold way before the finals even started.
Season ticket holders for all clubs used to be able to purchase ticket packages to all finals games at discounted prices
This drew a lot more neutrals to the games

Um I live down the south coast (near Kiama) and i make the effort to do a 4-5 hour round trip every weekend my team plays in Sydney.

If I can do it nearly every weekend surely your buddies in Canberra can do it in a once in a blue moon scenario? Lol get over it

Well bravo for you.
You seem to think everyone should do that then eh but ...
I'd doubt many sydneysiders would appreciate having to do what we 're being asked to do & I wouldn't blame them.
The Finals set up is a farce.
Our club & our supporters are essentially being told by the NRL , We're 2nd class citizens compared to others

Many will travel to Sydney.
None should have to
This is the point.

And while ever drongos like you & timmah continue to try & rationalise the NRLs ridiculous position... I'll continue to comment on it.

It's a nice thought but probably not as likely as you think. Especially without the mass media at the disposal of the NRL these days.

Have I come to the wrong thread, thought I clicked on the crowd watch thread but seem to have ended up in a thread debating finals venues

Our ticket sales have been rather sluggish too. Think everyone has their AFL finals mentality back. Hopefully we still crack well over 20,000

So it's only the Raiders who'll deliver with finals crowds in week one
Just like they did in 2012
& 2010

And The number of people I know who also know other people , who wanted to go but missed out has been quite staggering

A crowd in excess of 30,000 would of been possible if our venue was capable of holding it.
And the NRL wants to shaft this supporter group.
For shame
For shame

Just think - if there had been the foresight to build a bigger venue in the first place, Canberra would be able to cater for far more than it does.

But you're happier blaming the NRL for Canberra not having the appropriate infrastructure...

You've just singled out the problem is.
St George have had to play prelims at ANZ. It's nothing new. Maybe it's time for a redevelopment

Seems like they should move it to a bigger venue to ensure people don't miss out.

By the way, good on the Raiders for delivering 3 big crowds in a decade! Great effort!!

This whole raiders thing is mind boggling seriously raider fans you guys get a home final this week and if you win one in Sydney so what? What's it like a 3 hour drive for a finals match what once in how many years? I travel from Mackay to Townsville for a few games a year for a bit of fun. Is it really that big of deal? Like Timmah said if you guys had a bigger stadium this wouldn't be a problem so instead of blaming the NRL rally for a new stadium, Show the government there's a lot of keen raider fans, turn up every week and who knows.

Is the Broncos/Titans game really selling that bad?
What's the pax?
Would be disappointing if it wasn't 50k+
Still will be a bigger crowd then any other finals match this year I guess.

Atrocious.
I'm still hating on the prices. I'll draw up a map when I get home.

So is $40 the cheapest adult ticket?
They released 1200 $25 seats.

$40 level 7 behind the posts.

$75 level 7 sideline.

$90 level three sideline.

No four person family discount.

This pricing would have worked on a Sunday, due to the rarity. A rain predicted normality against a club with minimal history or rivalry - no chance.

Hahahahahahaha
A bigger stadium
Yet the cowboys play in a smaller one & aren't affected

The inconsistencies are stark
