It's really difficult to get 40k+ at the SFS, it relies on stadium members like anywhere else and anything short of an A-League GF or similar sees it fall short of the 40k mark in recent years.

As a comparison, the roosters/Knights 2013 Prelim got just under 36k from memory and the place was rocking. I expect a similar crowd this week.

The Roosters/dogs in 2003 did get 41k for a prelim but that had 2 Sydney sides, a luxury this fixture doesn't have.

When you put it that way, yes 40k will be stretching it.

But Canberra doesn't draw good crowds in Sydney?

Lol
a quarter of a century ago when they were the codes premier club side they did you clown

And under the NSWRL banner when all finals were played at the one venue so tickets to the entire series were sold as packages
And were hugely popular.

It was also before Super League, tickets I'm sure were much cheaper, day time, etc etc.

Hard to compare, but definitely a sign that it can be done.

Am I missing something on the ticketek website?

It asks you to put in a code, either SHARKS, COWBOYS or NRL when you do you get the message no tickets available.

It has been saying that since yesterday.

Same thing happened to me, it wouldn't let me purchase any tickets maybe the site just crashed for a while.

If you just leave the code blank it will show you all the available options.

Yep, just leave it blank and pick the section you want to sit in.

Wait, so fans don't turn up to preliminary finals anymore?

Have I imagined the last decade or what?
