Nothing like the Telecrap reporting the truth.
In an article today spruiking the expected A League crowd they put up a lower NRL crowd in making a comparision. Souths and the Roosters got nearly 59,000 a few years back but no they didn't use that one. They used 51,000 for the Dogs v Souths.
Tom Smithies & Matt Windley get your f**king facts straight.
Ha ha not to mention over 100k to the double header in 2001
Someone rightfully commented on these stats and got the usual replies of 'scared' 'taking over'. I get that it is a genuine rivalry and is one of the big events but soccer folk need to understand the reality is more like the clearly fudged 15,000 at Suncorp last night. Hopefully Samoa can get a decent crowd.
Suncorp looked almost empty last night. You could hear the crowd echoing.
Well I'll take your word for it, I've never really pegged the A-league as crowd fudgers that much anyway.I attended last night (work corporate seats, no one wanted to go obviously so I went for the beers). The crowd was small, though definitely 15k. I am so desperate for March. Like Greece financial desperation.
my bad but still the telegraph using halfass statisticsThe South's v Roosters crowd in 2013 was 59,708
On a Friday night.
Would have been between 65 to 70,000 on a Saturday night.
The double header that got 104,583 was in 1999
Not 2001
