Faaaaark.

That is not good, that game is normally a pretty good crowd puller in Brissy.

Yeah I know, such a shame. I would say even with the dragons current form it would pull about 33k on a Friday night. Atrocious pre sales. Its thursday night, uni is back, they should be throwing out $5 or $10 student tickets.

Pretty good for a wet monday night with just one set of fans, doubt playing it at ANZ would have drawn many more? for only 13k the place looked good, abandon your big stadium strategy and build a load of 20k grounds!

Take out the Broncos avg and the few big PH games which could still be played at ANZ and Sydneys crowds are prob around 14k avg and rarely woudl trouble the capacity of a 20k stadium.

Anyone know if the Bulldogs made a loss, broke even or a profit with that crowd ? Sure looked good on tv

One game a week on a Sunday afternoon, origin, finals for sydney teams. Anything else is not nrl's problem. Plenty of big stadiums host less games than that a year.

Larger stadiums are the reason some clubs are lifting their crowd averages. Even the Dragons average higher now they play at ANZ & Allianz.

Yes - crowds 'look better' at the smaller grounds and there are still way too many clubs not cracking 20k often (or at all) and there needs to be a balanced, managed approach, but regressing to not using big stadiums is easily the stupidest thing I've seen this week.

Two weekdays is probably two too many, can't wait for Mnf to go and I couldn't imagine anyone who would miss it.

How many Sydney teams are avg 17k plus? How many games are more than 20k crowds in Sydney? Modern all seater under cover 20-25k boutique stadiums should be the future for NRL in Sydney, they have pretty much given up on seriously meeting their KPI on crowd growth by agreeing to ridiculous Schedule for tv. Accept most clubs are never going to crack 20k in next few decades and build stadiums that don't look like no one watches the sport.
