Would fans be happy if the NRL fixed the scheduling to achieve best crowd attendance outcomes even if it meant a somewhat unfair schedule list year to year? Give the NRL will have control of when and where within reason should they now be creating a fixed schedule year on year that maximises derbies, rivalries, , away fans attendance and playing certain games on the day's most likely to attract biggest crowds?

Why weren't we all so agahst when Penrith v Parra got 14k

First of all that match got 15.6 k.
Second there was probably another thousand or so there due to Eels undercutting their crowds for some reason, plenty of people struggled to get seats.
Third unlike Parra v Penrith, Souffs and Roosters are said to have the biggest rivalry and with over 30,000 members you think this would be the match to go to.
Once Parra get there 30,000 seater you should see crowds there suddenly increase

That would be ideal, obviously a lot of clubs throw in their two cents as to when they want their big games. It would be fantastic for the NRL to get control, but it's also up to the clubs to increase their gate.

Oh it's happening. It's f**king happening.

It's just that I work in stats for the NRL and there has been no talk for 6pm friday games next year, quite the opposite in fact. Could be a case of no one knowing or some media beat up.
I don't get why they would do it, they will get horrible crowds and terrible ratings as no one will be home to watch it. really hope they don't go through with it unless it's the occasional New Zealand match, so talking 3 times a year max. This makes me angry

The scheduling has been odd

The scheduling program they use is apparently the same one ised to schedule the NHL season. In that league teams can play on consecutive nights and also the same team multiple times in a week. When you think about that its odd why they would use that program for the nrl and you can see why there is the flaw in what it has thrown up with teams playing each other close together

This 6pm game is a Fox game, it will get decent ratings i reckon. Not sure about the crowds.

100 years, 2 foundation clubs and can't even reach 20k is terrible. All those decades and can't draw a decent crowd is embarrassing for supposedly one of NRL bigger games. Bulldogs/Eels is where the crowds actually show up for a rivalry compared to Souths/Roosters.

You are factually incorrect but please feel free to keep making stuff up. Largest EVER a regular season game is Souths vs Easts in 2013. Just shy of 60,000.

Best eels vs dogs game is 28,000 in the last 3 years.

Last night was crap coz we are dead last and souffs not much better. Always amazes me how people state opinions as fact.

Correction, eels v dogs also drew 30,000 in 2014. Fact remains that Easts Souths have a far higher average.
