Obviously in the last three years Souths and Easts have had a better average but overall Eels vs Dogs draw more consitently

Appreciate the effort putting this together. Interesting that we are almost identical over 10 years. Far from the assertion that Easts Souths crowds are poor. Making such comments based on 1 poor crowd is ridiculous. There are equally poor crowds in some of the dogs eels games.

So they can grow their crowds substantially.

If Parra go on a golden run again they will need a 35k stadium.

A bigger stadium is necessary, I genuinely think fans are being locked out due to the current arrangement, I saw only single seats available in the main stand apart from right at the end

Last night was poor but that's on t souths members and fans who couldn't be bothered showing up against their biggest rival. I heard a lot of noise when the chooks went over how many easts fans do you think were there.

37,000 @ the SCG tonight makes a mockery of the rectangular codes in sydney.

What we are missing is a culture of attendance primarily. Stadia, infastructure and location are secondary reasons as even were there are perfect conditions conditions for league in places like brisbane they only fill 2/3 of capacity regularly. Perhaps the 3 pronged stadia strategy will help but imo non-attendance is now so ingrained in the fan base that it might be impossible to overcome even in world class facilities. But trying to be optimistic renovated stadiums at parramatta and olympic park should at least put more bums on seats for some clubs

They do love a freebie in the afl. I know 2 people at work who were offered free box tickets.

One thing they do well is advertise. On pay tv and FTA i always see ads for the swans and giants next home game plus tonight i seen an add for kids getting in for free to one of the sunday games each round. The nrl needs to learn fast and turn the substantial increase in revenue into noticeable effort to engage current and new fans. Even if they just nominated one game a week as the match of the round and gave it apecific TV marketing and ticketing deals it.would be a start

I disagree. It's pointless comparing Swans to Sydney nrl crowds. Add another 7 sydney AFL clubs and see what the average drops to. No to mention Swans are extremely competitive.

It isn't a hard concept to grasp. Souths have marketed themselves outside of their geographical area and have fans willing to sign up as members who cannot go to games (I.e regional, interstate and international fans).
