2016 Crowd Watch

Sydney crowds will probably be atrocious this weekend. Another blockbuster round ruined by rain

Only a slight chance of rain at this point for Monday. If that's the case, it's only Dogs vs Titans and Sharks vs Penrith to be affected. Neither expected to be high drawing games anyway.

What's this mean crowd wise? 36-37k?

Weather looking good up there apparently...

Yeah I"m thinking 35-37k. Could be a massive rock up because of the weather.

Ticket pricing is our hurdle. $60 bucks to sit up the top on the sideline. $40+ to sit up the top behind the posts. Horrid.

At the same time, Broncos are top of the table playing a exciting style of rugby league. If this current roll can't get above the usual Broncos crowd then what will SLRBroncos. Top of the table and the other Brisbane teams (QLD Reds/Brisbane Lions) are going terrible.

I think anything above 34k will be good considering the shitty weather we had yesterday. Some of my mates talked about not going but luckily we stuck to it because it looks alright today. No doubt some people will be put off by the rain though. How to increase attendence when playing exciting footy? Maybe not charging 40 bucks per ticket to be third tier behind the post... Family of 4 would pay something like 150 bucks for one game before food. I think 100 for a family of 4 before food is much better. And that's for the top tier behind the post as well. I don't want to think about what the better seats would be like

Yep, you can't get much worse than not even being able to get a second team in the NRL in the second biggest Rugby League town on earth, thats for sure.

Anyone who wants a second Brisbane team wants Brisbane to crumble like Sydney... I'd rather see 1 team with a constant crowd of 30k+ then two with 17k+

Yep just look at what happened to the AFL when they introduce new teams in Perth and Adelaide, crowds plummeted! No way could a city as small as Brisbane accommodate a second team without dramatically impacting the broncos.

Yep what Bronx said. Tickets are terrible. I think the top level should offer family seats for $30 on the side line and $20 behind posts.

i had about 20 people at work today neglect coming because all that was left is level 7. For $15 they would have gone, not $40.

I think people seem to forget that maybe only 50% of Brisbane (if that) actually support the Broncos. Just because the team accompanies the whole city doesn't mean every nrl supporter goes for the Broncs. For example I have friends that go for parra, rabbits, Cowboys, manly, storm and even sharks. Not all go for the Broncs and if they wouldn't switch to the Broncs I don't see why they would switch to a second Brisbane team

Is Brisbane somehow totally unique, because other cities that have introduced secondary rival teams have seen crowd increases in the original club as well as reasonable crowds in the new club. We have such little faith in our own product.

So Brisbane is such a fragile heartland it can't support two teams despite boasting itself as the league capital. The AFL have 2 teams in Adelaide, Perth and Sydney. If the AFL can have 2 teams in Sydney there no excuses for a heartland to have 2 teams of it's own in Brisbane.

Busses west from KGS - are packed, only allowing two to four on. Looks like TransLink has dropped the ball/ more fans than expected.

Broncos fans whining about ticket costs to Broncos games & in the same breath stating Brisbane can't afford to have 2 sides is an.insight into the intelligence of Qlders

Cowboys should be a sellout...reigning premiers, preferred time slot, top 4 opposition., great weather forecast...fans from all over nq should be able to get there.

Junior/concession both flash orange at the turnstile.

interesting how this post only capitalises Queensland teams.
