Biggest race day of the year tomorrow.
Biggest festival (Enlighten - Canberra's Vivid; + Night Noodle Markets) all weekend.
35 degree temps all day.
Penrith.

Anyone expecting a big Canberra crowd in that context is completely unrealistic

Its Canberra. Canberra never has crowds of any note, so I would say thats pretty decent.

The problem for Canberra is the lack of a true rival. There is not one "big" game each year they can count on. Sure sometimes they are boosted by big traveling support from Souths, Saints, Dogs....but it's not a rivalry.

Given the curse, the proximity of South Coast, and large number of Dragons fans in CBR, it would have made sense to turn it in to an event. But most games seem to be Monday night...and we don't even play them at all in CBR this year.

There needs to be an event / rival game for the raiders. Get 20k plus to one game, get a few more games to be 13-14k instead of 10-11k and suddenly your average is up 30%

Based on what? Why would raiders fans hate Storm or Saints? What history? It can't be just geography...

AAMI Park is 6.5 hours away. WIN Stadium is 3 hour away (as close as Sydney).

Also a true rivalry should go both ways.

Saints top rivals: Sharks, Dogs, Souths
Storm's top rivals: Manly, Broncos, Warriors

The Brumbies crowds are always boosted by a big NSW vs ACT crowd. It's a rivalry that makes sense.

Raiders don't have that.
